I think he can he is a far better player than he was before the 2003 world cup and i dont think the aussies see his as an all rounder he is just a batsmen who takes the ball as a change up

I agree...Now he has a Hundred under his belt he will have far more confidence and hopefully become a better player because of it.

Although he will still needs to work on some of his batting to make a test cricketer, 10% more patience in his batting and hes a superstar.

Of course he can, although he's been patchy so far he still has a good 5 years left in the international game. Of course Shane Watson will be opposing him for no.6 but you never know, with Watson's batting coming along so nicely they may open with him in test matches allowing the two to play together.

Watson opening that would be interesting, would give us 6 bowlers with Clarke able to roll his arm over as well.

Symonds well if he's given the chance to I'm sure he will make it, but all depends what happens with Watson.

Watson's shouldn't open. You're basically throwing the idea of an ideal allrounder out the window and making him a batsman whose a part-time bowler.

I think Symonds will still stay in through the squad, I don't see him being more dominant then he is in ODI's though.

Let Hussey open and bat Watson at 4 then. Shane Watson has test cricketer written all over him imo and i'd love to see him and Symonds in the same test team.

i think he could make it good but he dosent get runs in test matches very often he will have 1 good inning but then not score for a while he will turn good though im sure

Selection is the only probelm for Symonds. With Australia wanting to pick Watson Symonds has to retain form. He can't just give the odd high score here and there, he has to do it on a regular basis.
