Lahore Badhshas Vs Wellington Warriors

Lahore won the toss and without any hesitation decided to bowl first with manager Rizzyx saying he hopes to restrict WW below 80 as it would be tough chasing anything more than that against their spin attack. The decision paid off immediately with WW being reduced to 6 runs with half the side back in the shed, that too would have been worse had a wicket not been removed due to the game getting disconnected right after the loss of the 2nd wicket. WW managed to recover to 48 before losing their 6th, and from here WW really turned things around with some dazzling counter attacking Cricket. Abdur Rahman picked for his bowling came to the rescue with the bat and was very close to reaching a fantastic half century before being dismissed. Lahore were left ruing there luck as 3 dismissals were denied via the bowling of Saeed Ajmal, 2 cleaned bowled and 1 nicked to the keeper with the Umpire raising his hand but the wicket not counting. WW ended their innings getting to 129 all out, batting out the full quota of overs, the first time a Solomon team have done so against any Rizzyx side in 3 encounters. It is also the first time they got to passed the 100 mark against a Rizzyx side.

Lahore had it all to with the chase and they lost their captain and key man Anwar in the very first over. From there on Lahore managed to keep the scoreboard ticking without taking too much risk, they were caught out with the odd very slower loopy deliveries from WW spinners but with key contributions from Hafeez who fell just short of a match winning half century Lahore managed to reach home with 3 wickets in hand and a few overs to spare.

Final comments: Well played solo, it was a very tense chase, I was frustrated after you managed to get to 129 with my wickets not counting, but I guess i was due some hard luck with glitches, have had a fair share go my way in the past. WW also had 1 wicket denied with a batsman being cleaned up.

Guys, please note, Valerian is experiencing Internet problems since last few days, and he could not even start his 2nd Round Match with Issue even after trying many times. He informed me that he will need Maximum 15 days to rectify the problem with his net connections, moreover he also offered to withdraw from the UCC League as he thought it will cause inconvenience to others. As we all know its a genuine issue and Valerian was very professional and cooperative so far, I have decided to grant him special Privilege Leave of 15 Days (Till 5th August). So you guys are requested to put aside your matches with Valerian till 5th of August and play your remaining matches as per NEW & IMPROVED schedule.

After the hands-on experience of 1st week, I have decided to make the UCC League Schedule much more flexible, so instead of 02 Rounds each week, now you guys can play Matches till 14 ROUNDS as per your convenience (depending on the availability of both the managers). The dead line for finishing the 14 Round of Matches will be till 31st August, 2014.

So, we will start the last 04 Rounds of Matches (Round-15/16/17/18), only after all the matches are completed till Round-14.

Anyone has any query, please feel to discuss here.

I mentioned to Valerian , that he can set up an Mobile Wifi Hotspot through his smartphone in under 2 minutes , so that he can carry on with his fixtures until he gets proper Internet Connection back. He needs to confirm with me if he will be able/willing to do this for the Caribbean league . Will let you know whats the outcome.
 
Dhaka Demons (Acid Burn) vs Lahore Badhshas (Rizzyx)

The much anticipated match up between two sides who have been tipped to finish in the top 4 got under way today, with some going as far as saying this was the most anticipated match in UCC history. Whilst that was perhaps some what of an exaggeration never the less it was expected to be a cracking encounter. Lahore perhaps at a slight edge over Dhaka with the two managers Rizzyx and Acid Burn having faced off recently in the Carabian Cup with Rizzyx coming out on top.

Dhaka won the toss and decided to bat first, a decision that Lahore captain Saeed Anwar was satisfied with as he was looking to bowl first. Dhaka began very steadily trying to keep wickets in tact by taking minimum risk, by the end of the powerplay they reached 33/2 with Ravi Bopara who was introduced as early as the 6th over picked up the 2nd wicket with the batsman attempting a lofted shot to escalate the run rate. Things were moving evenly for both sides with the score ticking along but wickets also falling and at the 15 over mark Dhaka were 95/6 needing a final push to get them a competitive total. Lahore really were up to the task though and a few brilliant yorkers from Roach and Junaid removed the tail enders brining the Dhaka innings to an end on 114.

Lahore began the chase brilliantly, with both Anwar and Hafeez playing the pacers with ease, picking off ones and twos and the odd boundary without taking an risk. Hafeez lost his cool in the 6th over attempting a lofted cut shot over the fly slip fielder but did not manage to clear the man. Lahore reached 51/1 from 6 and were well and truly in the driving seat. Dhaka then turned to their spinners Harbajhan Singh and JP Duminy who really really tightened the screws on the Lahore batsman slowly pushing the required rate to 6 an over. Suddenly from 51/1 from 6 overs Lahore were restricted to 82/6 in 13 overs with still another 33 runs to get, match again was evenly poised. Things could have been worse for Lahore with two dismissals were not given, and further there was numerous very very close LBW shouts that were turned down by the Umpire with the Batsman really struggling against the spin.

In the end Lahore managed to push through and reach the target in the 19th over with 3 wickets in hand.

Lahore seem to be managing to win, but they have much to work on, their previous wins have been very close indeed and they will want to improve if they are to keep on winning.
