The thing is every player gave 100% in every match. Batsman & bowlers supported each other. I must say our bowlers did a fabulous job on keeping opposition's score to a very small amount and our batsmen made sure we dont fall behind.

Can NSW make it three in three?

For the past two years, New South Wales have gone almost completely unchallenged, defeating Middlesex, Yorkshire, Transvaal and the Philadelphians on their way to back-to-back titles. This year, they will have to defend the title without last year's lynchpin Albert Bowden. In his place is free-scoring Jim Mackay, who joins a line-up already boasting Trumper, Duff and Noble. It really isn't fair for everyone else.

Team News

Lancashire

A triumphant County Championship last year means that Lancashire have their first shot at the World Championship this time around. However, they do seem to lack the quality of their Australian opponents. Their strength, like New South Wales, is in their batting, which is built around Archie MacLaren and the likes of Hallows, Hornby, Poidevin, Sharp, Spooner and Tyldesley.

New South Wales

The winners of the last two Championships, New South Wales have been strengthened once again by the presence of "Sunny Jim" Mackay, the free-scoring batsman who completes a fearsome top six. The bowling might not have that same excessive amount of quality, but it is good enough for Trumper, Duff and Noble to be confident of their fourth World Title.

Transvaal

Transvaal exceeded expectations last year as they beat Middlesex to finish as runners up. This year, we can expect more of the same - tenacious batting all the way down the order, and skilled slow bowling will be the order of the day. Watch out for their two Gordons - Shepstone and White - who were excellent twelve months ago with the ball.

Context
New South Wales remain the dominant cricketing force at present.

Watch out for
If Jim Mackay doesn't score a hundred, I'd be absolutely shocked.

Prediction
New South Wales will make it a hat-trick of World Titles, and a fourth overall.
