Since the Xbox 360 came out before the PS3, is that mainly why the 360 has a bigger game database? Isn't it likely that everything that comes out on Xbox 360 will come out on PS3 and vice versa?

Edit: Just checked GAME's website. There are tons of different types of game out for the PS3!

Totally agreed with you if PS3 would have arrived earlier than the 360 you people have preferred PS3 rather than the 360.

The software required to develop games for PS3 is very pricey. And XBOX has got mostly exclusive game titles like HALO which dont come in PS versions.

No company will ever invest in a 50 GB game as nowdays the trend is more towards having short episodes of games so that diffrent episodes can be sold out for number of years.

The main advantage of the space can be taken up by having more cutscene videos and as Madman said having more maps and objects. But i guess storylines will remain short for long time.

I heard somewhere, could be imagining it, that bluray discs will soon have a quad layer, reaching 100gig, anyone else heard this?

At the CEATEC JAPAN 2007 event, Hitachi announced that they had successfully created a quad layer Blu-ray disc that can store up to 100 GB of data.

To sweeten the pot even more, Hitachi says the discs are compatible with existing Blu-ray players and drives after an easy firmware update.

Hitachi says they are now working on "improving the signal quality of its quad-layer technology" so that it can be ready to hit the market soon. The company also boasted that they were working on a eight-layer Blu-ray disc capable of storing 200GB of data.

We've decided to come down on the side of the PS3. I don't like the sound of this 'ring of death' defect in the cheaper models of the Xbox 360 and going to a higher model such as Premium or Elite would move the price to within ?30 of the PS3 itself. Add to that the fact that the PS3 has a blu-ray player, is quieter than the Xbox 360 and is a better multimedia machine all round, we have decided to go for the PS3. I'll be selling my PS2 and getting ?25 part exchange at GAME, alongside 3000 points (around ?7.50 worth) and if I were to sell some PS2 games as well, it could well bring the price down to around ?260.

NOOOOO go to game and do a deal im not sure if its in the UK theres for a ps3 its 10 PS2 games and a PS2 and $300AU if you dont want your PS2

Slightly off-topic, but has anyone got 'Fight Night Rnd 3' on PS3? Is the AI better than PS2 version?

Yes it should be bcoz PS3 posses better physics there is a video for comparison on Youtube but can't post its link and I don't own it. You can search on youtube for it.

Now all I've got to do is find the S.o.B! None of the usual places have any stock!

Edit: That probably means it's coming out soon on budget, doesn't it? It usually does, I mean I don't think they would discontinue the latest Fight Night game without Rnd 4 on the horizon...

I've had my PS2 in the cabinet under the TV in the living room for ages, doubling as a DVD player without any problems, but I've just read that PS3 cannot be put into an enclosed space due to overheating issues. Is this accurate?

Edit: I always leave the door open when it's turned on.

I personally don't like any of them, i think the Nintendo WII, is better than both of them.

Nintendo wii is more fun than Xbox or PS3, i know the graphics are worse, but the Nintendo Wii is more fun! :hpraise

I find that unlikely, I'm sure most cabinets have enough ventilation to make sure its not as hot as outside the cabinet anyway.

I personally have mine in a cabinet.

But when you compare games such as Call of duty 4 to sonic or mario or whatever. Xbox and PS win hands down.

But yes the Wii is great with a couple of mates playing tennis!

That's good, not being to have it in a cabinet would've caused issues about where it could be put!

If your happy to get it online, Tesco and Gamestation have it in stock, I think its 30 at Tesco and 35 at Gamestation. I wouldn't worry about it overheating in enclosed spaces, its just scare-mongerers.
