Anyone got advice on bowling and batting against spin in ICCIII? Between the demo, a previous game that crashed after an epic victory over India :mad and my current game, I must have played about six Tests against Sri Lanka to date, and each time Murali and Samaraweera have been next to unplayable.

On the other hand, I've had little joy with my spinners (in this case leggie Daniel Doran), even on turning wickets. What kind of lines, lengths, fields and aggression should I be using to replicate the success of the Sri Lankans? They always seem to rip balls through the gate or hit middle and leg with the batsman playing no stroke, whereas mine go for five an over on a good day.

Also, advice on batting against Murali, Kumble and the like would be appreciated. My usual technique is to attack them from the off (as in real life) to knock them off their lines, but it doesn't often work.

Here's an illustrative example - Australia vs. Sri Lanka, first Test. I gave Simon Katich an unexpected recall because he was doing well domestically and is proficient against spin (also, his slow left arm bowling gave me another option), plus Michael Clarke was injured. Jacques and Doran were the other surprise selections.

Sri Lanka won the toss and batted first, and I thought I did well to restrict them to 453. In reply, however, Australia were reduced to 132/6, thanks to Fernando and Murali (none of the top order passed twenty except Ponting, who made 55.) A valiant rearguard action led by Watson (144 off 153 balls) and ably assisted by Lee (26), Doran (90) and Clark (40) saw us to 396, a deficit of 57.

Sri Lanka mauled our attack in their second innings, Jayawardene making 204. Lee went for more than five an over, and I was frankly relieved when they declared on 483/7. Our pursuit of the mammoth target (540) started badly when Jacques edged Fernando behind in the first over. Hussey's 172, supplemented by 85 from Ponting and 92 from Katich, brought us within sight of an incredible victory, but the second innings was a mirror image of the first as Murali ripped through our lower order.

There were fewer than 100 runs to get and plenty of time to get them when the sixth wicket fell, but the next three tumbled for the addition of just 34 runs. When Lee was caught behind for 21, I feared the worst, but Tait and Clark managed to block out the last two overs and secure the draw.
