Younus Khan all the way..

Mahela is such a boring player and he is not that consistent either...

Its actually pretty close for me between the two. Both very good batsmen and capable of great knocks. Not sure where the inconsistency part came from if we're discussing Tests, they're both as consistent under pressure. Only reason I would vote Mahela ahead of Younis would be due to his superb captaincy, otherwise they're pretty even.

Well Usman, the poll is the better "batsman" :p

Not the better captain.

Jaywardene hasn't been performing lately. I'm a much bigger fan of Younis. So i'm going to Younis Khan.

They have similar Test averages, so hard to differentiate them on that count. If we look closer to their statistics, you'll find that Jayawardene averages 66.05 at home but a mere 38.07 away. Younis Khan has averages of 51.12 at home and 49.10 away from home, showing a greater versatility. Younis Khan has scored runs on the seaming decks of New Zealand and England whereas Jayawardene has been poor in the former. So, going with Younis Khan in Tests.

They have very similar ODI averages and strike rates, so one must filter out the crap to get a clearer picture. Jayawardene shows a better strike rate and average against top tier ODI competition (ie. non minnows. Minnows including Bangladesh and Zimbabwe). However, this complicates somewhat when you see that Jayawardene averages under 20 in New Zealand and South Africa - the toughest conditions in ODI cricket. Younis Khan has not played in New Zealand but has a slightly better record in South Africa in terms of a much better average and slightly better strike rate. Can't give a verdict on this one, unfortunately.

This topic sucks bowls.

Shoaib > Lee topic ruled.

I haven't seen Younis a lot, but what little I've seen of him, he does flay around a bit.

I'd say Dravid and Ponting were the best captains of my time.

Jayawardene for me. He was the one who played well in England when everyone else failed. AlsoI just generally rate him higher than Younis although I rate him high as well.
