Your Ideal [Insert Country Here] Team

Interesting people are leaving KP out of the Test side, i can see why, but he was our top scorer in the Ashes that we won.

Like I said he needs to learn when to defend. Getting out when he has and how he has outweighs the runs he has scored for me.

Aus ODI:

Gilly
Haydos
Ponting
Martyn
Hussey
Symonds
Clarke
Watson/Hogg-depends on conditions
Lee
Bracken
Mcgrath

Prime example, the 100 he scored against Pakistan, gets his hundred then makes a mockery of all the hard work by getting out to a ridiclious shot very next ball.

Hopefully he will have been brought back down to earth after the series defeat and we will see a better KP in India because he wont be able to go there and slog every ball with 2 quality spinners coming at him on turning wickets.

If Joyce does will on the A tour I would use him next summer, probably try him out against Sri Lanka.

I can't see KP Collingwood and Bell in the same team. But who to leave out? Bells was good in Pakistan, KP has scored 2 hundreds and did well in the ashes. But Collingwood did well. Who to drop?

Hmm...

My Ideal Bangladesh XI:

Javed Omar (BAT)
S.Nafees (BAT)
H.Bashar (Bat)
M.Ashraful (BAT)
Tushar Imran/M.Rahim (BAT) - Rahim is also a part time keeper
Aftab Ahmed (BAT/BOWL)
Mushfiqur Rahman (BAT/BOWL)
K.Masud (WKT/BAT)
M.Islam Rana (BOWL/BAT)
M.Mortaza (BOWL/BAT)
M.Rafique (BOWL/BAT)

Good long batting order, with Rafique having a test hundred. They also have 5 good bowlers, with Ashraful a useful 6th bowler.

You support bangla?? Too bad, that "good long batting order" of yours wouldn't last a day! :p

India test:

Sehwag
Gambhir
Dravid
tendulkar
Ganguly
Laxman
Dhoni
Pathan
Harbajan
Kumble
Zaheer/ Agarkar

ODI:

Sehwag
Tendulkar
Dhoni :happy
Dravid
Yuvraj
Kaif
Raina
Pathan
Agarkar/Zaheer
Harbajan
M. Kartik
SS: Gambhir or Yadav

I say it looks pretty balanced. If we needed a 'keeper to back up Dhoni in case of injury or something, we can try Karthik in the ODI's.

Actually, I support Bangla and Zimbabwe. Probably the only fan of minnows in the forum...
Speaking of Zimbabwe:

My Ideal Zimabawe XI (ODI):

B.Taylor (BAT/BOWL)
T.Duffin (BAT)
D.Ebrahim/S.Carlise (BAT)
C.Coventry (BAT/WKT)
T.Taibu (WKT/BAT)
E.Chigumbura (BAT/BOWL)
K.Dabengwa (BOWL/BAT)
A.Blignaut (BOWL/BAT)
G.Ewing (BOWL/BAT)
B.Mahwire (BOWL/BAT)
P.Utseya (BOWL)

I would definately play Ervine if he was still available for selection. And although Taibu has retired, he said he will like to play again if everything was sorted out. Shame that Streak won't be coming back...

Watch it dude .. The Bangla U-19 team is seemingly going great guns these days. Hope they will be able to give the same showing in international cricket too.

Which exposed Flintoff to the new ball whereupon he got out too.

I'd like to see Ed Joyce at some point in India or in the test series next summer, he looks a great player. He also guided Ireland to the world cup :)
