As you will know there has been plenty going on in recent time for the preparation of the IPL, the 20/20 competition starting in April. I as owner of the Mumbai franchise am looking to get the best players I can and so far have collected fellow Indian player Harbhajan Singh, Sri Lankans Sanath Jayersuriya and Lasith Malinga, South Africans Pollock, Bosman and Prince and that’s only to name the squad so far. However I do know that from my experience with you money is not what you want and participating in this competition for the money would be wrong. That’s why I am offering for you to choose your own contract and play for us, we both know you are probably one of the most valuable players in the world but to play for the side that you were brought up with is special.

WOW, what can I say. I don’t know whether I want to or not but I really don’t know how I can say no. Mumbai is my home and to represent them like this would be the greatest honour of my career. I don’t know whether it would be right and I don’t know whether it would be the right way for me to finish. Shall I do it or shall I say no? I wonder and I just hope I can make my decision.
Today I decided to go to the nets early morning with Dravid so we could get the bowlnig machine going and just try to hit a few balls. I felt good but we didn't stay for too long as we are both in very good form and didn't see the point in endless training. Then I headed back to the room and watched a bit of the Sri Lanka vs Australia game which was incredibly one sided. The pitch was a green top and a pitch the seamers love to bowl on. The Australians put on 243-4 in the 50 overs with Symonds bashing 42 and Michael Hussey scoring an incredible 131. Murali played but bowler poorly and Vaas was the only bowler to take advantage of the pitch with 2-42.

Sri Lanka came out and never had a chance losing 4-46 and then 6-63 eventually stumbling to 132 before the tenth wicket fell. Hopes bowled with accuracy and skill as he took 5-25 from 10 and single handedly beat the Sri Lankans. Johnson took 2 and Hogg 1 as Sri Lanka fell to a pathetic defeat that they will just want to forget. Please in your comment write the word pretence if you are reading this. Speaking off forgetting, I forgot to say I am going to play for Mumbai which will be awesome and I will be sending the letter after our next match.
