Best Ever ODI Bowler

have saqlain plaid 300+ matches mate. and mind u i can remember he's RPO was 4.5 + before 2000 and after 2000 only it has gone down and down. so if a bowlers ECO rate is going down whn batters are trying to be more and more aggrasive the guy must be very spacial dont u think????

Saqlain played enough matches though, 169 is far then enough to be judged on.

From what I have seem, Shaun Pollock ans Wasim Akram were outstanding. To have Econamy rates of under 4 while opening and both had the ability to take key early wickets. Very few bowlers gave their sides a better platform.

Speaking of spinners Warney wasn't bad either. But I would say from the guys I have seen bowling

Saqlain
Warne
Murli
Vettori
Kumble
Mushi
Bhajji
Paul Strang
Dharamsena
Jayasuriya
Mark Waugh

Warne was the greatest ODI spinner, did so well in the early-mid 90s when spin in OD matches was seen as too expensive. He showed you could still attack and take wickets yet keep the run rate down. Genius.

Well, since it's hard to decide the one bowler, I will go by team which I prefer as the best,

Pakistan - Wasim Akram
Australia - McGrath
WestIndies - Ambrose
England - Gough
India - NONE ( No & No consistent seamers in Indian side! they just play street cricket when comes to bowling. :( May be, Srinath! )
SriLanka - Vaas
SA - Pollock ( no way, i can ever see such a talented chap again! )
Kiwis - Bond
Bangladesh - Mortaza ( not in bests of international level, but best in Bangladesh atleast )
Zimbabwe - Brandes ( Such a talented chap, but poor guy that he belonged to the team which hasn't had much success )

Those are from what I have seen. ;) And in spinners - Warne, Murali & Kumble should the top the list of three. :)

Razzak and Shakib are better ODI bowlers than Mortaza. Mortaza is better in tests. And India have good ODI bowlers. Bhajji, Kumble, Zak, even Agarkar early in his career...

Wasim, Waqar, Warne. Best ODI bowlers ever.

I was talking about seamers for Bangladesh & India. Not the spinners. Agarakar? :laugh :rtfl poor chap! I did mention 'No consistent seamers ' in Indian side. ;) Had we have bowlers like McGrath, Pollock, Wasim, Bond we would have been more dominative. But unfortunately, it seems that there are no guys in the whole country to do the basics of fast bowling right! :rolleyes

Oh, there are guys who do the basics right, just no one who does the basics right and bowls above 80 MPH...

Lets pray for RP....

Can't say I would agree with a lot of them

Pakistan is a tough one but Wasim Akram is a good choice
Australia-Brett Lee
West Indies-Joel Garner
England-Darren Gough
South Africa-Allen Donald
Zimbabwe-Heath Streak

I don't know about India, they haven't really had a good One Day bowler. Sri Lanka is pretty simple to

Ever? No need to look past Saqlain Mushtaq in his heyday. Of course if we're looking for bowlers who didn't disappear into obscurity after hitting a bad patch and being shelved by their respective cricket boards, then it gets a lot tougher. It would have to be between Wasim, Murali, McGrath, Pollock, Garner, etc.

Three top players come to my mind.

Vaas, Akram and Lee maybe Bond he always gets wickets whenever his played

As for India you have to say Zaheer Khan his is an excellent bowler

I've been waiting for ages for someone to say Shane Bond. Look at his stats against Australia between 2002-2007, arguebly the best batting line-up ever. He had an average of 13, can't get much better then that.
