Group C (Afghanistan, India, South Africa) - 12th Match Afghanistan v SA

I think MacLovin had a point to an extent, Afghans should avoid being like Pakistan in terms of infighting and a corrupt board. The beard thing is irrelevant to the cricket and more a question of personal taste.

Oh I agree completely! As I'm sure would other Pakis. I was just commenting on the fact that his idea of a sportsman is one who is clean shaven.

I didnt say anything about clean shaved. dont twist my words around!

You know what I mean mate. You said that sportsmen should look like sportsmen and that religious studies are not to be conducted. It's not like Yousuf starts preaching while batting. You saying that they shouldn't have beards is basically saying Harbhajjan shouldn't wear a turban.

As long as they don't wear anything considered to be indecent, they can look however they want!

Well India are pretty much through to the next round. Although I'm impressed with the Afghanistan team. Barring Ireland all the associate teams are showing some fight this time around.

What are you talking about. Ireland in the middle overs took 4 wickets for 17 runs in 5 overs against Windies. Overs 12-16

Afghan and Ireland are the only associates who have played, so Im not sure who you are referring to barring Ireland. Bangladesh is a Test nation in case you did not know ;)

Id back Ireland to beat Afghanistan, they looked horrible today bar one batsman

Yeah but there batsman couldn't do much. And conditions for bowling were pretty good yesterday. Whereas Afghanistan played well with both bat and ball.

Disappointing crowds. People are not really excited at this tournament being held in West Indies. Dont know, but somehow the atmosphere is not as exciting and electric as it would be in places like India, Australia, South Africa, England, Pakistan, etc. The crowds just dont come in (maybe the country is not interested in cricket as it was before).

Last WC too, we had similar problems. I am never excited with international cricket played in WI.

Love it how everyone thinks Nehra is back in form after taking three wickets today, we'll see the real verdict tomorrow against the real men. I never wanted him in the side.

A compilation of Twenty20 overkill and the slow demise of Windies cricket. Even the IPL3 had diminished crowds towards the ends and the semi finals were not sold out.

The twenty20 bubble has burst, mostly thanks to Modi, the man that killed the goose that laid the golden egg.

Did you watch the West Indies match last night?

I am sure some dude has better things to do then watch India vs Afghanistan. St Lucia has a population just above 170 000 and they will only fill the stadium if the West Indies were to play there. It is not like India where its one country with more then a billion people. The crowds will be better in Barbados and Guyana because of the larger populations.
I am not excited about international cricket played in the subcontinent but I don't complain.

If you think Afghanistan played well with the bat then I seriously question your judgment. Just about all the batsman had awful technique, I have never seen such village style play at the International level before. Hideous to watch and not at all effective.

If the Indians could bounce them out then the South Africans might decapitate them.

hMarka added 16 Minutes and 31 Seconds later...

" Dale Steyn will be no problem"
Afghanistan allrounder Karim Sadiq is brimming with confidence ahead of his team's World Twenty20 matches against South Africa and India

:laugh If thats how you lot play the short ball, I reckon he will be a wee bit more than a problem

Then you obviously didn't watch the match closely. Yes the bounces did them in and they need to work on that. But they played the spinners pretty well. There hits were calculated risks and they rotated the strike pretty well. For a side that's just coming into international cricket I thought they did alright. It could have been a lot worse.

india has a strong team this time...we will win for sure...indian team rocks:happy
