I honestly don't recall there being all that much discussion of it, so it's not a request that was front of mind for me. I'll make a note of it and see what's possible at this stage.

My aim was just to give insight into the "why did you change from DBC14" question. Every time there's a change to the controls there's strong consideration of the thing we're adding that's requiring the controls change, compared to those who are used to how things were and how much of a change it would be.

Yes, there's always the "well just make it an option" approach, but doing all of those would result in a lot of options in an already lengthy list. At some point the aim would be full controller remapping as an option, but it's not a feature at the moment and I can't make any promises there.
@MattW Is the controls in Cricket 22 same as Cricket 19?

So I pre-ordered on Steam.
I never understand pre-orders. Just wait for gameplay then pre-order a day or two from release date. Personally I like to wait a week or so and see what the ground truth is behind a game and then make a judgement based off that and my own thoughts of course.
And after the worst take of the year on planetcricket:
Seeing as the spec has been ignited again, I'll share my two cents.

A new cricket game this year or next year is wishful at best. In Melbourne, we've had hard lockdowns for nigh on two years, with curfews and five km bubbles, productivity is pretty hard to get going let alone sustain for a company that operates in the cbd. At best, they've started working on it for a few months.

Suffice to say that with nacon acquisition comes a lot of paperwork and legalities that take place which can slow down production for a bit before its all finalised, not to mention what nacon want out of Big Ant (apart from cricket). Its a big restructure and dare I say the biggest an Australian game company has gone through, so it takes time.

Just because the ashes is an official partner doesn't mean an automatic release date for that time period, ideal - yes, necessary - no. Plus we don't know if they're building a new game engine from the ground up, waiting for unreal engine 5 etc or they're expanding licencing which takes more time to get, and more time to implement (ie players, grounds etc).

Personally, early 2023 is my realistic expectation for a new game, but... speculation. :spy:wave:cheers

I really like the batting, can finally play a slog sweep and advance down the wicket shots are really satisfying. Playing on pro controls, as I always do, not sure how I feel about the aftertouch, doesn't seem to do that much compared to using the arcade controls.

Ball physics is sensational. Blocking the ball in cricket 19 yielded that weird tennis ball bounce, in the nets at least in C22 there's a real sense of weight to how the ball reacts.

Bowlers still tend to bowl more leg side when batting as a left hander so I'm a little concerned about that happening again during games.

Player models are good, can't really tell yet anyway but the hamstrings look like they need some mass to them, they look flat. Plus I've noticed there doesn't seem to be a thigh guard or anything underneath the batsman's trousers.

Looking forward to the full release.

Is Nets challenge in PS4 smooth? I might preorder it sometime this week, but only if there no issues with fps rate. Can anyone confirm.

Not yet. I would suggest You to wait for sometime and then get it. But it shouldn't matter if you are purchasing the game anytime.

PS4 version is still blurry and they said there will be a patch coming out sooner or later.
