Ashes Cricket General Discussion

Attached video is of AI playing this cricket shot as standard (hitting the ball onto the pitch). I tried all classic and standard batting controls but couldn't play this shot. Did anyone of you? If so, please let me know. [HASHTAG]#AshesCricket17[/HASHTAG] [HASHTAG]#PS4[/HASHTAG]

I have a feeling, though couldn’t say for sure, that you’d need a few things to happen. I’ve certainly seen the AI play a shot like this to me.

Firstly, I think each batting type in the game has different shots associated with that specific type. Like the really wristy cover drive that I’ve seen a few players play. Might be worth having a little look in the editor at the AI batter who played this shot to see what they’re set up as.

Also, and again, might be wrong, but the AI loves playing shots to square leg from outside off stump. So you may need a specific type of batsman, plus the ball to be about 5th or 6th stump, for that animation to trigger.

Not a lot of certainty in that answer, but they’re my thoughts on what it might be! Let me know if you find anything conclusive.

Is there any user groups for Ashes Cricket @MattW

A career mode question: I've created a custom team and trying to use that as my club team in career mode. But coming from DBC14 I wasn't aware that if I created only 13 players for my custom team Ashes cricket will fill the rest of the team roster with random players when starting career mode. Is there any way to prevent this? Is there any way I can make sure that the other 10 players (excluding myself) that I play with as a team during matches are the ones that I put in my custom team and not the randoms?

I'm using an xbox pc controller. Is there anything I can do to reduce the sensitivity of the left analog stick? I don't have good control of shot placement using the left stick.

Sorry if this has been asked but this is a long thread But a couple of noob questions
1. is it possible to make CPU run rate lower when simming? I play as batsmen in career mode and find my partner is always going at an unrealistically high run rate.
2. Playing in SL club cricket I find every team is the "same", they all have left arm quick, legspin, offspin, and most teams also have left arm legspinners which is obviously very rare in real cricket. Are there roster downloads to balance the club and domestic teams?

Hi folks - i have returned to this game - Ashes Cricket (2017 - I believe) - on Xbox One after about 6 years!
Now I know it's an old game but - how do I go about applying the latest patch? and also how do I update the teams/players? (I seem to remember there was a database - but could be wrong)
All advice gratefully received
TIA - The returned Dougie1...............

PS - I just noticed the last post in here was 3 years ago! Hoping some helpful soul is still reading it.........
