Cricket 22 General Discussion thread (Use bug report thread for issues/bugs/crashes | Patch notes in first post)

Aggressive grounded shots with late timing are going high up in the air. Instead it should either end up as an edge or miss the bat completely.

Even when a normal flick off the pads is played very late to a fast bowler, I'm getting leading edges towards mid on very often. Instead the batsman should be inside edging to pads or missing it for lbw or bowled through the gate when played late.

It's the early timed shots which should be lobbing up in the air or getting leading edges because the bat face closes too early but the reverse is happening.
Learn to play earlier? ;) There is no proper physics engine it seems, ive bee complaining about the late drive shot going in the air since start of C19, how can a ball go up in the air when playing a drive shot if the shot is late the angle of the bat must dictate a downward trajectory into the pitch, basic physics!

I have never played the women's game but they should be a lot more under powered for the game to reflect the 'simulation' aspect.
Simulation and gameplay both... men's and women's matches in cricket 22 feels same... equal power in shot play etc... because of shorter boundary line, women's matches feels even more overpowered...

In terms of technical, control etc when you go into the gym, under each exercise it briefly explains what they do. In terms of skills, they improve over time the more you play. So for example, as a pace bowler, the more you bowl out swingers, the more it will progress, the less you bowl them, the less they progress, if at all.

Thanks for that it’s been doing my head in much appreciated. I’m 9 years into my career and turn is still on 65 any suggestions for that ? Thanks again

I've pushed out another slider video for anyone interested, this one is about how to create an English wicket. With grassy pitches being so OP for spin, and pace revs for that matter, it's something that needs a tweak in the sliders. There's some great highlights and wickets in the gameplay section of it, if nothing else! :)

I'll not put the video here since I think an mod moved my last one (that or I'm going crazy) but head over to the slider thread if you're interested.

Happy gaming!

In terms of turn, the only thing I can think of is in pro controls (what I use mainly, not sure about arcade) when you use the left stick to decide the amount of spin. Good - Perfect might improve it over time.

I wouldn't bother with the gym last I check it wasn't working, I havnt downloaded the new patch yet so it might be fixed. Dont know.
No mater how many times I visited the gym, the skills will never rise. It say it has an increase but on further visits to the gym or players skill page the skill will be what it was before the gym.

The point I was making and he was asking is what the skills meant, and you can find out in the gym. The fact that they're not working properly is a different thing.

The descriptions on the gym just say temporary boost anyway. I havent bothered with it

@MattW - 2 questions requesting your attention:

1. When would the keeper and bowler response issue resolved while collecting the throws from the outfielders near the stumps. Currently they are happy seeing the ball pass by and don’t respond at all.

2. any work going on adjusting the batter/bower stamina? Currently they are super humans and can continue playing for days with no drop in the stamina. Not fun making a fast bowler ball 15 straight overs and he is still fresh to bowl 15 more. Likewise the batters can bat till the end of an odi with hardly any drop in their stamina.

Thanks

It'll also depend on your actual specialty too.

I.e. if you're a specialist bowler you can get a lot more turn & the maximum stats you can achieve will be higher. If, for example, you're a bowling all-rounder then there'll be a corresponding drop in the maximum turn you can achieve, if you're an all-rounder then that figure will drop again, and so on.
