Cricket 22 General Discussion thread (Use bug report thread for issues/bugs/crashes | Patch notes in first post)

Simulation and gameplay both... men's and women's matches in cricket 22 feels same... equal power in shot play etc... because of shorter boundary line, women's matches feels even more overpowered...

Agreed.

The women are & always have been significantly over powered in C19, & now C22. Not just for the batting, but for the fielding too. As fit & strong as modern female athletes actually are, C19 & C22 still has the women hitting sixes well into the stands in some cases or they frequently clear a mens match boundary rope too on HARD or HARD+, despite the actively smaller boundaries themselves.

The other problem I always found with the womens matches in C19 & it seems to be an issue in C22 as well....

....Despite these smaller boundaries there was never any adjustment to the actual physics despite it being raised as an issue. Ergo, women can consistently run down balls in the field just as quickly as the men can. Worse still, once they have actually scooped a ball up they can fire balls back in from anywhere in the field with a flat throw with every bit as much arm power & speed as the men can too.

I played a C19 female career on & off, & I've played all the different women's tournaments/series for the Xbox gamer score achievements, & I still play the weekly C19 (test the best) online challenges that frequently include womens match challenges too. It's an issue that was just never really adjusted for accordingly.

Have you ever managed to run a 2 or a 3 in a womens match? (Obviously women commonly run 2's & 3's in real life.) I've made 2's or 3's extremely infrequently from thousands of deliveries faced because in game the women can run down a ball just as quickly as a man, & the boundaries are even smaller to boot. Incoming throws come in with such remarkable velocity too so if you don't actively hit the boundary, then the most you'll ever get unless something daft happens with the AI are singles, singles, & more singles.

It'll also depend on your actual specialty too.

I.e. if you're a specialist bowler you can get a lot more turn & the maximum stats you can achieve will be higher. If, for example, you're a bowling all-rounder then there'll be a corresponding drop in the maximum turn you can achieve, if you're an all-rounder then that figure will drop again, and so on.
Thanks for that I think I get it now all my stats are up towards 80 it’s just the turn that’s not increasing at all I wasn’t sure if there was a specific delivery I should be bowling to get the numbers up

In terms of technical, control etc when you go into the gym, under each exercise it briefly explains what they do. In terms of skills, they improve over time the more you play. So for example, as a pace bowler, the more you bowl out swingers, the more it will progress, the less you bowl them, the less they progress, if at all.

It still works as already explained by @GuyIncognito . You just need to bear in mind that you have your base stats per any given specialty, plus modifiable stats that can be increased through direct experience, (or another small boost through perks or gym work if that aspect was working), but all stats have an inevitable ceiling that when reached they just won't go any higher.

Nine years into a career I'd wager that all if not most of your abilities are either at or very near their maximums already :).

Thank God we don’t have any feminists here! This post would have been ripped apart :spy

LMAO.

Even the most hardened feminist could immediately observe I'm obviously referring to "the physics of a virtual game engine", not about the skills, performance or abilities of real life athletes, or of course women themselves ;).

If they're a "virtual feminist", then by all means, "virtually rip it apart" lol ;).

I've pushed out another slider video for anyone interested, this one is about how to create an English wicket. With grassy pitches being so OP for spin, and pace revs for that matter, it's something that needs a tweak in the sliders. There's some great highlights and wickets in the gameplay section of it, if nothing else! :)

I'll not put the video here since I think an mod moved my last one (that or I'm going crazy) but head over to the slider thread if you're interested.

Happy gaming!

Before the latest patch I had very good gameplay in all formats. Now with the new patch it is a nightmare. I don’t understand how they keep messing up the fielding and batting. I get 2 days a week to play the game, only to find that yet another thing is bugged or broken.

I think forward dives in the inner circle need to be timed better.
Need have forward dives on the boundary rope as a option to and tapping it back.
Outfield catches on the rope and throw it up in the air and catch it back in the field of play.
Slog sweep have more power
Finesse shot should have less power more placement
Pitch should have more impact on the game if it's green seems back more or dry cracked pitch viable bounce or sharp bounce on the crack.
Weather rain make rain look realistic and impact the game I haven't had one rain game yet.
Hotspot in the game

Big ant are doing a great job.
Also have few different bowlers appeals for a wicker and making squads bigger.
When creating a player having more facial features

I can literally feel your situation because I felt the same too. The whole experience was better a couple of patches ago.

Is it me or the whole batting has just become way too easy after the latest patch. I used to score 45-60 runs in the first 10 overs in an ODI game before the patch. But today I easily scored 109 off 9 overs with just no lofted shots at all. Can someone else confirm this?

I like the missed dives but sometimes they do look weird - hopefully, they get tweaked and not removed. Also still the odd overthrow madness. @Rumple43 I am using your NZ slider settings and reskilled teams in a test match and so far it's great. Bowled NZ out for 370 - they went along at under 3 per over, lots of maidens. I am 107-2 after 30 odd overs. Currently on Day 3. The balance in edges is much better now.

I've started a t20 world cup now I can finally access the community kits and team line ups. Hosted by England and I'm also playing as England. Only played 1 match vs Bangladesh at Old Trafford. I was quite pleased with the variety of dismissals both with spin and seam.

I had...

wicket chance - 70
AI timing - 35
AI bowling quality - 70

I made 235 with Malan top scoring with 75 off 45. Rashid came in and smashed 40 odd off about 12 balls at the end. I picked a very batting heavy side though with Morgan at 7 and Moeen at 8.

Bangladesh made 175/8 in reply. Nice variety of dismissals too, Moeen took 2 in 2 balls. Both bowled. He also took a wicket where the batsman smashed one straight down covers throat which was satisfying to see. A few LBWs too and caught in the deep. The best wicket I felt though was Stokes bowling around 5th stump, got a tickle through to Buttler. It just looked superb and for a moment could've quite easily been mistaken for a real game on the TV.

Few gripes as is the norm I suppose. There were times that no matter where I would bowl I was getting smashed around. Some of the AI shots were ridiculous and highly unrealistic.

When batting it was far too easy to milk the spinners for sweeps/reverse sweeps. The AI never put anyone at third man or fine leg so it was easy to keep doing it.

Overall an enjoyable experience though. I feel like we're getting somewhere.

what did you set the AI run rate to?

Is there anything more annoying in this game than enticing the AI into a false shot and catching the ball on the boundary only for the fielder to involuntarily step/slide over the rope?
Not sure how hard it would be to add a few steps of animation, but I really think that the triangle tap-back (ps systems) should be a option which would make the player tap the ball up and back into play, then a second slo-mo could trigger with a smaller time window for the final catch.

We're about 6 iterations in and the world has been seeing these happen in the real world for a decade. Surely it could be attempted for addition to the game by now?
