Zimbabwe's horror series continues. It is nice to see them playing top nations but all these drubbings don't seem to be helping.

It’s tough when the home team hasn’t won a single game.

In all fairness, was anyone expecting them to reach the finals? Zimbabwe has been a one-man show for the last few years-propelled largely by Sikander Raza. It is good for them to get some practice under their belts, but to expect that they would be in the finals is a tad foolhardy. Given their run in WT20s, one would have expected them to spring a surprise during the series, but it was not to be.

If they play more games, they may gain some experience of what needs to be done in crunch scenarios/ win over the smaller moments in a game. Yes, they will lose, but what matters is whether they put the learnings from those losses to good use or not. If they don't, then we will have another scenario like Bangladesh 1999-2005/ Kenya 1996-2003.

Yeah, but not everyone’s pulling their weight... Haris, Ayub — numbers aren’t looking good
Ayub is an amazing talent I'd be angry if they didn't back him, Haris might get dropped if they look at Rizwan again. But I remember he was a good hitter back in 2022 in that T20 WC in Australia.

Yeah, talent alone isn't enough — he needs to be a consistent run-scorer. While he's done reasonably well in ODIs, his T20I performance is disappointing. An average of 19.82 after 31 innings just isn't good enough at the international level.

Yeah, but don't forget Sahibzada Farhan is also a wicketkeeper, and he's been in good form lately. PCB has a lot of options to choose from — it's a big selection playcard. Still, they keep going with Haris and Saim in the top order.

Saim hasn't played an awful lot of T20I after his ODI debut, so Im expecting him to up his game in the format too seeing by his playstyle. It's poor so far, but he's one to back.

Is Farhan a full-time WK though? Rizwan's glovework is still tough to match

They are the same guy tho, right ?
Haris

"Farhan isn’t known as a full-time wicketkeeper. As for Rizwan, it seems like the PCB is moving away from him in T20s, labeling both him and Babar as not suited for the format — which honestly doesn’t make much sense.

True, he has the tools — just needs to translate that into performances. Hopefully he finds that consistency soon.
