Thats way too dark for a test match! Get new light meters umpires! That rain really put a halt on the juggernout of the India team and this looks to eb heading for a tame draw.

Great work Suren.

Visibilty was poor but hall played very very well.....Game still in the balance...Excellent works Suren bhai...Well done!

This is bad for India, South Africa is settling down quite well. At this rate India will have very little hope of winning this match. A draw looks quite visible in the horizon.

Love the concept! Brilliant work Suren. Nice to see hall get a well deserved half century. Need to build on this tommorrow...

How did you get a test match under lights? Did you somehow make the test kit the ODI kits and play a Day/Night game? Either way it's really cool :)

Thanks... Yeah it was done using gamechanger :)

:happy Also Thanks everyone for the wonderful comments and views :happy

South Africa are going quite nicely now,India will have to pick up some quick wickets now on day 4.

Good backup by Proteas ,hope this continue for long :) Great story and excellent presentation Suen bhai :clap

Well i went back a few pages that i missed and that rain animation was fantastic!
Great work Suren and keep it up.

( With Sunil Gavaskar & Geoffrey Boycott )

S.G : Hello and welcome to the " Turning Point " which is the review show/Analysis show to discuss in detail on all the cricketing actions that took place. Well, Mr.Geoffrey is also with us to discuss everything. Well Geoffrey, how did u like the rain? ;)

G.B : :laugh Very much Sunil.. But it has spoiled almost the entire day's cricket.. It should be disappointing for those who have turned up today and went home without seeing much actions. I feel pity for them. But still.. it was good to see some fans in the end who were enjoying the weather as well as eagerly waited for the cricketing actions till the end.

S.G : Yes Geoffrey! So we saw only little cricket today.. Lets discuss about those little actions now.. So Geoffrey quickly tell me, who was ur star of the day? ;)

G.B : The only guy who impressed me on Day 3 is, " Andrew Hall!!! ". He played an mature cricket today. Remember, he was asked to open all of a sudden just for Smith and he played an crucial role as opener so far in this match. Its fantastic simply.

S.G : Actually, Hall started off slowly and proceeded step by step.. He was actually following the Dravid's style today! :p

S.G : Now also, lets welcome our special guest to this show.. Its Kris Srikkanth who is also called as "cheeka" joining us all the way from India. Hello Cheeka.. Its pleasure to have you on this show :)

: Hello Sunil and Geoffrey.. Its always great to be on analysis shows! :)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

G.B : Well Kris, i have a feeling that you must be very disappointed to see rain spoiling all the strategies of India who were proceeding very well?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
( K.Srikkanth From India, LIVE )

srikanthmw1.jpg
: Yes, very much disappointed actually. After taking two crucial wickets on a pitch that provided nothing for bowlers, India always had a chance of picking some more wickets and applying massive pressure on the home team. But rain has played an perfect spoilsport!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

S.G : If there was no rain, may be, SA wud have been 5-6 wickets down which is what a complete scenario from the current one.

G.B : At the same time, never underestimate the SA lineup.. May be this match wud have brought back Smith to his form.. Smith,Gibbs and Prince.. who are still there in that batting lineup, its going to be never an easy job for India to win this. The first two wickets were gifted ones. Also we saw, Hall came with his talents suddenly in this match.. so who knows, Smith might have comeup in similar fashion too! :)

S.G : Speaking about Hall, i agree, he batted beautifully which was a suprise to everyone.

This is how, Hall's scoring areas look,

Hall's Slow Explosion

hallgraphsz5.jpg

G.B : There you can see... Hall has scored runs all over the ground. He looked comfortable in legside though which was bit easy to pick singles in the gap in legside against spinners in the end. Overall, his batting was a very matured one as i mentioned before.

S.G : Lets ask Cheeka now.. Well Cheeka, what do you think of Hall's innings?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
( K.Srikkanth From India, LIVE )

srikanthmw1.jpg
: Seriously, i expected Hall to go soon in very first few overs! He came from nowhere with his steady knock. He adapted himself well to the conditions.. and played only when he was confident about that shot. It turned out as an fabulous innings till now, especially towards the end of Day3! Beautiful innings!!!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

G.B : Like i said before, never underestimate SA lineup ;) In last match, Pollock gave a suprise to everyone and now i feel, this guy, Hall is giving a suprise! :)

S.G : With nothing much more on SA batting... Gifting two wickets.. Hall in complete control... Now we move on to Indian bowling.

G.B : Before you ask me, I want to say, I was completely suprised with Dravid's strategy of giving the new ball to Ganguly which is another quite unexpected tactics.

S.G : Infact, Ganguly responded to his captain's confidence also very well. He bowled well and sticked to a strict line and length. Whats ur general opinion on Indian bowling, Geoffrey?

G.B : hmmm.. Not that bad.. They bowled pretty well. I was only disappointed with spinners in that last session after the rain. May be Dravid should have brought some pace bowling too.. But we can't blame them actually.. they were struggling even to grip the ball correctly.

S.G : What you say Cheeka?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
( K.Srikkanth From India, LIVE )

srikanthmw1.jpg
: Yes, Geoffrey had already pointed out that except for the last session, the bowling has been good till now. In that last session, I wud have preferred Sachin and Sourav.. the bounce was low with the wet ball.. Ganguly might have suprised the batsmen with low bounces.. Tendulkar wud have been also handy with skidding the ball giving some suprises.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

G.B : Well, as Kris said, Ganguly wud have been handy.. And regarding Tendulkar, he also has the capability to bowl seam and spin with variations. I will agree with Kris that Dravid should have gone with Sachin and Ganguly.. Even a single wicket at that stage wud have costed more for SA.

S.G : And regarding the bowling in last stages of Day 3, both the spinners lost their spin and extra bounce which they were depending on! This was how, on average, it turned up as,

Effect of Rain On SpinTwins!

kumblenbhajioa9.jpg

G.B : Thats a pretty good graph comparisons.. The loss of extra bounce should have affected Harbhajan more as he has the capability to do more tricks with that. Kumble.. we all know, he is not that much turner of the ball.. but due to the gripping problem, i somehow feel that he was struggling to vary between flippers and legbreaks which resulted as the same almost i.e a straight delivery!

S.G : Well, we are coming towards the end of this show... Before going to Geoffrey... lets have a final opinion from Srikkanth now.. Cheeka.. ur final words?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
( K.Srikkanth From India, LIVE )

srikanthmw1.jpg
: Once again, lets hope rain doesn't spoil the Day5.. With two days in hand, there are still chances for India.. They need to get rid of 8 more wickets before the follow-on margin.. which ofcourse is not an easy task! Bowlers need to apply extraordinary efforts on last two days. If SA cross that follow-on margin, then i feel, 99% its a draw!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

S.G : Lets see Cheeka what happens tomrw.. mostly there should be no rain which is what we are also hoping here.. Now Geoffrey ur final words?

G.B : Well, I feel, this is going towards a draw.. If someone.. Gibbs, Hall, Smith or Prince go for a huge knock say 150-160, then definitely its going to be a draw. Kumble is yet to get wickets in this match. Prbly, he can change the things around. If he does something like what he did in last test, India do have a chance for a series win also. Lets see what happens tmrw though.. It all depends how the things go on for first one hour on Day4. :)

S.G : Thanks Geoffrey and Srikkanth for joining us in this show. Cheeka.. Hope to see you back soon again on this show!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
( K.Srikkanth From India, LIVE )

srikanthmw1.jpg
: Sure.. With pleasure.. Bye! :)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

S.G : Well, lets see what happens.Thanx everyone for watching it and hope everyone enjoyed this analysis show... Also once again Thanks Geoffrey and Srikkanth once again for joining us! And thats all from the studio and we will be back to you on Day4's end of this test match. Till then, Bye from all of us here! :)

G.B :Bye! :)
