Now tell me he isn't a chucker?!

How delightfully perceptive of you Hooper. Can't offer a counter argument so you just resort to insults. Wonderful.

In fairness, you called him a Warne Fanboy and Jealous of Murali just cause he stated an opinion. And he just did the same to you. Now you kinda know how he feels...

Hooper, he is only having a go at Warne's private life, not at him when he is on the field.

Good Point. But that was more of a generalization than a direct insult. And it was also in context with the rest of my post, rather than just a spontaneous dis. Although in fairness, generalizing is worse. Which makes me a bitch.

So you won't call him a Warne Fanboy if he says Murali is a Jerk in person? People don't only dislike Murali cause they like Warne, their are other reasons.

Nice to see you realise EF. Kinda the point I was making.

I didn't see he was or was not a Warne Fanboy.

Just a word to ensure that we all keep on topic and remain civil. There are a few posts which are starting to border on flaming and such like.

We are all entitled to our views, which in an ideal world would be backed up by evidence, however it's not, so sometimes we may just have to accept otherwise.

I feel that Warne is overly criticized. Many good men cheat on their wives. A lot of men get caught up in the fame and become different people. Doing the wrong thing doesn't make you a bad person.

Yes, Shane Warne slept with many women. But I think an easy way to put yourself in his position is that he is a father who loves his kids. He doesn't shoot them like Bin Laden or something. He is not in any way an evil person. He is simply an idiot at times, like we all are. He is also into charity work.

He is a great man? No. Is he flawed human being? Yes. Is anyone perfect? No.

Murali does seem to be an honest guy, but as Zorax says, he is different, and many Aussies simply do not choose to believe that he bowls legally.

Most of us can accept that he is a good bowler, and that he does not chuck it. Some of us can't/don't want to. We do not need to attack each other in the manner that some people have done in this thread, particularly a certain someone who should be setting an example. There have been 4 deleted posts in this thread. I feel that this thread is not going anywhere nicely right now.

I've got an on topic related matter which can take the thread further.

If scientific evidence has proven that we can't see a 'throw' with our own eyes, then can umpires still call for throwing? (I think they can).

I'm still not sure why people don't accept scientifically proven facts though.

They can still report the incident to the match referee, which I thought was the way it should've worked with Hair and Murali from the get go IMO.

Not every bowler has defect wrist or shoulder so if they look like they chuck it, thy probably are. Murali is a freak. He's different. His 'chucking' is an optical illusion and slowing it down should make you see his action is legal.

As for Murali as a person, I envy EF as I would love to meet him.

Sorry. When I said "But he is a thrower", I meant "You can see he is a thrower".
Right. And the magic tricks you see that are basically illusions are all really true as well, huh? After all... seeing is believing.

Not to be racist, but most fans from the sub-continent much prefer their neighbours over Australians.
I would go as far as to say that most fans prefer Sri Lankan cricketers to Australian ones, but that is of course the subject for another discussion.

"I know that the facts, evidence and all the record books say that he is a legit bowler, in my eyes he is a thrower. When I see him bowling I see a man who isn't bowling, I see a man bending his arm and imparting major spin on the ball that gives him an unfair advantage".
You conveniently forget that it is his "rubber wrists" that give him the ability to impart major spin.

As Sohum said, Warne got more spin on the ball, does that make him a chucker, no?

Murali has the double-jointedness thing going on, which gives him the capabilities to twist his wrist as high speed to not just give major dip, flight and all other things movement, but aids the fingers to spin the ball.

Re Murali's character, I have to say that I see him as a lot more arrogant than Warne. He announced to the world that he wants to get 1000 wickets, whilst Warne retired at the top of his game in part to give youngsters a go.

Nah, I've always felt that Murali is a pretty humble fellow. But, yes, he does tend to be self-confident at times. For example, he doesn't feel the need to take diuretic pills to look better.
