I am quite surprised that India has opted for zero practice games here. Especially after the NZ-home series debacle. A practice match would have helped people get intot the rhythm, but guessing they rely more on their Yoyo tests here.

Cricinfo's rundown of the venues for this series has brought to my attention a ridiculous stat:

Marnus Labuschagne is the leading runscorer at every Australian ground except the MCG since the 2018/19 home season

Like the past 2 series, this too, will boil down to the sheet-anchor's role here. During the last 2 tours to Australia, Pujara was the anchor for India. The bowling attacks were similar and the rest of the batting floundered terribly, with the exception of a couple of flashes of brilliance.

Can't foresee anyone standing tall in either side here. Given the slightly aggressive make of both sides, I expect at least 3 Tests to wrap up in under 4 days- exceptions could be Melbourne and Sydney as these are traditionally easy-going wickets.

Somewhere in the YouTube comments found this.

Some Valid points to which I absolutely agree.

I dunno why people disregard Tim Paine. IMO, he was a good skipper, took on the team at a critical juncture and led them admirably.

I agree the batsmen have evolved over a period of time. However, their form is still a concern. If Bumrah and Co pitch it in the right areas, it could be an issue.

For the Indian batsmen, I agree- Rohit, Kohli, Jadeja ,KLR,Ash will be the last for them

Secretly I believe Rohit Sharma missing the first game is a blessing in disguise for India. He was never amazing against the moving ball and slow to get those feet moving.

Will be an interesting series - pity it starts at 3 am here.

Correction: Thumb is suffering from a fracture to the Gill. :grinning: :laughter:

As per cricinfo, it seems like both Nitish Reddy and Harshit Rana are going to make debuts...No place for Akash Deep.
