Budget Draft: Bargain Hunt

You are one of the few among us with enough budget left to pick up Bob Crisp.

I was genuinely gutted when I realised I'd spent my budget down to the point where I couldn't afford him - it was a complete mistake.

Mark Boucher was the incumbent wicket keeper for a very good South African team for well over a decade. Pretty happy to pick him up for just 10 tariffs.

Over to @Aislabie

next up I'll take :aus: :bat: Jack Badcock for free, averaged over 50 in FC cricket but wasn't able to convert his ability into runs in any of his 7 tests. He made his Tassie debut at just 15 years old and earned praise from the Don himself for his strokeplay

:aus: :ar: "Stork" Hendry

335 runs @ 20.93 (1 century, best 112) and 16 wickets @ 40.00 (best 3/36) in 11 Test matches
6,799 runs @ 37.56 (14 centuries, best 325*) and 229 wickets @ 29.02 (6 5WI, best 8/33) in 140 first-class matches

If I'm honest, I expect that Hunter Scott Thomas Laurie Hendry was obscure enough that he would have remained unpicked until the final round, but he balances my side so well that I had to get him in now. Hendry was the long-term Victorian number the three during the period when they had the best domestic batting unit cricket has ever seen. However, he won few opportunities in that role for Australia as he had to compete with Macartney, Ponsford, Kippax, Ryder and Kelleway but his Test-best 112 came in exactly that role in Ponsford's absence, as did his first-class best of 325 not out for Victoria against New Zealand. Hendry was also a very able bowler; he is my third seamer in this team, and probably takes on a bit of a Mitchmarshian role with the ball.

Aislabie's XI so far:
