Test Cricket is Best Cricket
Welcome to my latest draft. This one is grander than anything I have attempted since the Layer Cake Draft: not only will everyone be trying to select their best possible teams, but they will be trying to do so while conforming to some increasingly restrictive missions that will conflict with the goals of other players. Sufficient missions are available to sustain a field of 20 participants if we get them, though I'd be shocked if we ended up with that many. This one should be about 8/10 bonkers, depending upon which missions everyone ends up with.

The Rules
The rules are mostly very standard.
- When signing up, please state your preference for either an Easy, Intermediate, Hard or Impossible mission, and indicate if you have a strong preference for a particular mission. Please note that it is possible that due to demand, you may not get the mission you hoped.
- Once the draft order is announced, it will be everyone's responsibility to keep us on track. That means that if you make a pick, you have to tag the next person to make a pick.
- If you make an invalid pick, it will be replaced by me with a forfeit pick that meets your mission.
- You have 24 hours from the time you are tagged to make a pick. Failure to do so will see your pick filled by a forfeit pick chosen by me.
- If I break my own rules, I will still be subjected to an appropriate forfeit pick.
- All picks must conform to your mission.
The Missions
Easy Missions
- All of your picks must be named in alphabetical order. For example, if you pick Jimmy Anderson first up, all remaining picks must have surnames that come after him alphabetically.
- All of your players must have represented different nations. If a player has played for two nations, you cannot pick another player from either nation.
- All of your picks must be born in chronological order. For example, if you pick Jimmy Anderson first up, all remaining picks must have been born since Anderson.
- All of your picks must have played Test cricket over the age of 40.
- Only players who bat and bowl left-handed are allowed to play for your team.
- All of your picks must have played for the same country.
- None of your players is allowed to have played an ODI or a T20I.
- All of your picks must have Test batting averages over 30. All of your picks must have Test bowling averages under 40.Intermediate Missions
- All of your players must have played a Test match since 01 January 2023, and not announced their retirement since that time.
- All of your players must have fewer than 1,000 Test match runs, and fewer than 50 Test match wickets.
- All of your picks must have represented the same domestic team.
- All of your players must have played ODI or T20I cricket, but none is allowed to have played a Test match.
- All of your players must have a highest Test score of between 90 and 99.
- All bowlers selected in your team must have a Test batting average of under 10, and your wicket-keeper must have a Test batting average under 20. Nobody with a Test batting average of over 20 is allowed to have a Test wicket.Hard Missions
- All of your players must have captained their team on Test debut.
- All of your players must have either bowled both pace and spin in Test matches, or played Test matches both as designated keepers and as specialist batters.
- None of your picks are allowed to have played Test, ODI or T20I cricket.
- All of your picks must have played Test cricket, but none can have scored a Test 50 or taken a Test four-wicket haul.Impossible Missions
- All players in your team must have played Test cricket, but none may have a batting average over 20 or a bowling average under 40.
- All of your players must have played Test cricket, but none can have ever scored a Test run.
