England tour of New Zealand (3 Tests, winter 2024)

I think they're trying to give some practice in conditions to potential Ashes players of the future. They got thrashed in South Africa, they had about three batters I think.

I've not no issue with the bowlers and the likes of Rew/McCann/Davies etc but the likes of Flintoff and Shaikh should be getting experience of Aussie conditions by playing grade cricket for a season, not getting walloped by a bunch of Aussie state fringe players on a representative tour.

It’s not just about getting used to Australian conditions, they are with the England coaches and in the England pathway to help develop their overall game and for England to keep tracks on that development. Obviously they are grooming certain players to get more Australian experience in particular the bowler more than the batters cause I don’t particularly see many if any of the batters going to Australia in a years time.
