How does the BCCI allocate the semi-finals? Over the years, given the lack of domestic viewership, one could argue that teams can no longer boast of home advantage. Nevertheless, I am keen on understanding the science behind this. As we have 2 semi finals going on concurrently-
Kerala v Gujarat at Ahmedabad
Mumbai v Vidarbha at Nagpur
I do believe this has got to do with the results here- Kerala scraped through by virtue of the 1 run lead they acquired during the QF in Pune*. Inn the Mum v Vid- assuming it is on the basis of the margin of victory?
Now, if we focus on the Quarter-Finals:
J&K vs Kerala- Pune
Vidharba v Tamil Nadu -Nagpur
Mumbai v Haryana- Calcutta
Saurashtra v Gujarat - Rajkot
If we go by the order in which the teams finished the group stages, J&K, Vidarba, Haryana and Saurashtra should have hosted the games. Now with J&K, I assume the lack of a valid ground could have been the reason0 but this game could have been held somewhere in the Northern part of the country. The Mumbai v Haryana game too, should have been held in and about Delhi/ the Northern States.
Not too sure what the rational is here.
On the same lines, anyone knows what happens to the final in the current scenario?
