Indian Domestic Cricket

In other news, BCCI wants to axe Kishan and Iyer from the contract list.

By Shah's mandate, everyone needs to play domestic cricket, I wonder if the same rules will be applied to Rohit, Hardik, Kohli and Bumrah as well.

It’s impossible to play domestic cricket if you’re also playing international cricket at the same time, I thought that goes without saying?

In any case, Shah did say that someone like Kohli deserves to take time off for his own reasons if he needs it after years of service to the national side so no, the same rules won’t apply to him or the others.

It’s funny that the odd post I made during the last Australia tour (can’t seem to find it for some reason) we did about how expectations on certain players playing despite having personal reasons to miss out on games like other bigger names do seems to still hold true and has arguably become an open secret now.

It is a sad truth...

Sorry, but Andhra and Telangana players have always been cry babies. Rayudu, Vihari, the list keeps growing. Why wait until the end of the season? Why not speak up then and there itself? All that talk of loving the game and all doesn't add up, when you try to show yourself above the state. Vihari could have simply avoided a mention of his 16 India caps, but no! The bloke wanted everyone to see that aspect.

Vihari is now on a roll, posting pictures of letters signed by other players stating they want him to captain. High time people grow up and act maturely.

Check the last letter that Vihari posted via Twitter/X. Horrible English!

Furthermore, it still states that Vihari used foul language- apparently that seems to get the best out of their players! Shocking.

I am intrigued, cause that team has never really won the Ranji. So, if foul language enables in getting the best out of them, I really wonder about about their aspirations and goals they set for a particular season.

If Mayank Agarwal drags Karnataka over the line tomorrow it would be a truly remarkable turnaround after the choice to bowl first followed by his golden duck in the first half of the game

So the guy sneaks in what is likely an insult in Telugu, spams emojis and incoherent sentences and adds background music from a Vijay movie?

Real solid defence there buddy.

Also looked at his profile, has a total of one game in Vijay Hazare Trophy where he got 35 at a SR of 61 whilst batting at seven (his batting partner at eight was striking at a SR of 160 and scored 60 in the meantime). In the Andhra Premier League he’s batted at eight and scored sixteen runs in total.

Seems like a classic nepo baby.

Rubbish decision really!

Iyer
Had been one of the most prolific scorers in recent year. Was the backbone of your test side, was stellar in the CWC23- people forget he scored quickly and scored 500+ runs in the tournament not an easy feat.

Furthermore,Shreyas has turned out regularly for Mumbai. Before the current dictat too, Iyer played a couple of games for his state side.

Kishan
Guy asks for a mental health break and you force him into playing a tournament? Remember,he scored 200 in an ODI and was dumped for KLR, who was returning from injury(without domestic games)

Now considering the above, I feel there's more to it than meets the eye. Also, why is Hardik going Scot free? KLR? Bumrah- will you make him play the Ranji final for a team? Will the same yardstick apply to Kohli as well?

Something is not right with Indian cricket and it shows.

The most funny part about this fiasco is the BCCI specifically naming Shreyas and Kishan being excluded from central contracts.

As per the new rule that anyone who plays three tests automatically gets added to grade C… so why is Shreyas again specifically excluded from that when he’s played a test against South Africa and two against England this year?

Pretty sure no one will raise these questions seriously enough to the powers be as is the norm these days in all walks of life over here.
