    Eddie's Gameplay patch

Good thinking Eddie. Let me know how you get on ;)

    A funny story!!

I thought you were going to say your mum had turned it off. Nice story. I bet you'd have been chuffed if he'd been bowled.

    I read the manual

Not sure it means it the way you're interpreting it. I simply take that to mean that make sure both buttons are pressed at the time you want to execute the shot, and not press direction, let go of direction, then press shot. So pressing direction first and holding it whilst then pressing...

    Eddie's Gameplay patch

Eddie, Any chance you can list exactly what changes you've made...eg specifically which shots you've edited, which fields, pitch conditions, etc? Then keep your first post of this thread up to date with the latest info if you make additional changes?

    Interesting reviews

I quite enjoy the game, but now that I've read these important reviews, I've changed my mind. I also thought I liked chicken curry until I read someone say they didn't like it, so I don't like it either now. Can someone tell me what colour I should pick as my favourite? I was thinking...

    Eddie's Gameplay patch

Nice job Eddie. I seem to be getting more realistic matches now. Much more shots piercing the field and plenty of 1's and 2's. Thanks for your efforts. Have you got more plans? Also, have you come across the AI bowling data yet?

    I'm really struggling.

hehe Daxter, I was kinda expecting this after you got the game a couple of days ago and then went quiet. Batting is tough, but it does gradually come with practise. Like suggested above, it's best to practise in actual matches. Just play loads of matches and try to suss out the timing, etc...

    Most Needed Patches are.....

Oh yes you can ;) I've been patching games like Pro Evo Soccer/Winning Eleven on PS2 for years. The PS2 stroke files are exactly the same as the PC version, so patching them would be no problem at all.

    How the hell.....

Eddie's files helped me score more 1's and 2's. They help reduce the scritped shots which go straight to a fielder every time and now find gaps a little more often.

Good News I Have Found The Stroke Files!

I also experienced the game crashing when I put the 2 .big files into the /EA Cricket 2005 folder. So, I decided to use bigGUI to export the original 2 big files and put them into the /EA Cricket 2005 folder and then manually imported into these 2 files all of the shots and other .txt files...

    Getting Ck2005 today!!!

The only patch that can save BLIC is a big one that will take 2 years to develop and then cost you ?30 to buy. It will be called BLIC 2007. Maybe they will have realised that having the choice of playing front or back foot shots and advance down the wicket shots are fundamental to the game...

    Tutsi's A.I. Patch v6.0

cpu still seems to bowl yorkers or very full-length deliveries far too often

cricket 2005 the good and bad

irl, it may go in the general direction of a fielder. Too many shots in Cricket 2005 go straight to the fielder, without the fielder having to even move. You can see exactly the same shot occur time and again. The same is true of BLIC, but that doens't stop it looking rather scripted.

    C2K5 very poor

BLIC 2005 better than EA Cricket 2005? LOL!! Well yeah, if you think games like Pacman are realstic and you're 8 years old, then yeah, BLIC probably seems like a good game. Mind you, EA cricket is made by the guys that wrote BLC99.....EA Cricket 2005 is the son of BLC99. Codemasters BLIC 2005...

cricket 2005 the good and bad

It's kinda scripted...the physics model isn't objective, it's too scripted. Too many shots go straight to the fielder. There's no sense of real space, just scripted shots. The game is ok, certainly better than BLIC and certainly the best cricket game there is, but it's still not that great...

Ck2005 for the hardcore... BLIC for arcadey...

:laugh sorry, but that quite literally made me laugh out loud BLIC more realistic...hahahaha......And the world is flat, not spherical, right? :laugh

    Crcket 2005 batting question

:laugh I personally find the batting quite hard too. You do need to play yourself in and get the confidence up, but even then, it's up to you if you want to risk slogging high shots for the boundary with the perpetual risk of being caught. I'm definitely still learning but I'm finding it's...

I Now Refuse To Play This Game

lol !! Please tell me, where is the "innovation" in the gameplay? Hawkeye? Not exactly "gameplay"...just some graphical gimmicks. Or were you thinking of something else? Like the "innovative" pick-up-and-play, simplistic, arcade gameplay which plays like some pish game from the 1980's? EA...

BL 96 better than BLC 2005

It's interesting to read that. My first impression, upon playing the demo of BLIC 2005, was that the gameplay had not moved on since BLC99. Perhaps part of the problem is that (I'm sure I read this a few years back) the guys who wrote the original BLC moved over to write for the EA Cricket...
