Lara has been setting up himself nicely to get there before Sachin does. He has basically stopped playing one day cricket for the time being. He says he wants to last longer in the test arena. If he was to get the record this year, look for him to continue beyond the World Cup as from all recent...
Mervyn Dillon? Vasbert Drakes? Nixon McLean?
Those worthless f*cks along with Courtney Browne and Reon King heads the list of the top 10 worst players to play for the West Indies in the last 5 years.
Oh, and for all who said that Brian has no class and only thinks of himself, he walked...
The forecast for tomorrow is for a 50% chance of rain. I hope the rains stay away and we get the beating, it's probably the only way we will get rid of Courtney Clown once and for all.
We have Carlton Baugh and Dinesh Ramdin who was the captain of the U-19 team to the Youth World Cup. Instead the people of the Caribbean are forced to accept the fact that we are paying back our debt to Courtney Browne for his miraculous effort in the ICC Champions' Trophy final.
ffs!
This worthless punk has made it his aim to drop all the top batsmen he's played against.
M. Waugh
S. Waugh (the most important dropped catch in the history of test cricket, the west indies as a team and people have never recovered)
Sachin
Kallis
Inzimam
I seriously hope he suffers a...
Oh, shut up already and quit being such a bomboclaat ol' fart. :mad
You're just mad he caned your countrymen in successive matches. Just ask your great leg spinner Kaneria how he deals with the pain of watching a six sail over his head twice in two balls. Oh and you're too far away to try and...
For all the doubters go and have a look if you can, or if you can remember seeing any of his front foot pull shots through wide mid-on or that f*cking orgasmic extra cover drive (like the one he played off Nel when he took the new ball earlier this year at Kensington Oval late in the day), that...
Witnessed his 153 live yesterday and today.
Breathtaking.
A Lara Hundred >= Orgasm
That darned inconsistent Lara.
724 runs in five matches at an average of 90.5.
Sachin better?
Give me a flipping break.
I'm not sticking with any West Indies obsession. I never compared Hooper and Lara to anybody, neither did I say Waugh and McMillan weren't good.
So read what I said again, I didn't intend to start some fuss over who's better, I simply stated that Lara and Hooper were excellent slip fielders...
Test cricket is the basis on which we judge a batsman as great or simply good. One day cricket is flash in the pan stuff.
That said though, Lara has played some stunning one day innings in his time, lots of them matchwinners too. The 116 in the opening match of the 2003 World Cup was as good...
Nice win for us.
First meaningful victory in a test match since June 2003.
If we win at Sabina as we should, the Sri Lanka series will be a big test to see if things are back on track in some way.
Lara seems to be running out of steam as well, looked very tired in the latter part of his innings yesterday, which more than likely it seems led to his dismissal.
He's hoping to retire after the World Cup, though. Hope he lasts till then.
Sometimes I wish he could play forever.:(
Sadly, everytime the West Indies play India the Lara vs Tendulkar clash always fails to materialise. It's either Lara is out of form, or Sachin is injured or out of form himself.
I'm also looking forward to next year.:D
But we have the Aussies away just before that.:) :(
My aggression towards Tendulkar mainly came from the uncalled for aggression for Lara.
On another note, I think this (Lara vs Tendulkar) might be probably the most debated topic in world sports.:)
Shocking.
I shall leave this thread be, the blatant hatred for Lara here is uncalled for. But as they say, to each his own.
And for the record, I have nothing against Sachin, he's a fantastic player. Just that I prefer The Prince.
One Love.
