Couple of great wickets in a t20 against Ireland as a warm up match as part of team's tour of England.
First one about 12 overs in my fast/medium allrounder set up the batsman with a few fuller wide straight ones to the right hander that he left or played and missed. Then managed to deliver the...
A few things I?d like to see (leaving aside the issues that have been discussed extensively like edges and fielder/bowler momentum).
Batting
? I?d like to see the introduction of the square drive. Ideally front foot + right stick between 3 o?clock and around 11 o?clock should be a drive of some...
I agree that the push back on the RAS would be a very iearly indicator on average. What I would like to see happen is open up the "window" in which the indicator appears with the actual appearance of the indicator within that window determined by factors such as the batsman's ability, form and...
I've mentioned this before by my view is that the biggest issue is trying to pick up length in time.
Having played at a reasonable standard and faced guys who had been clocked at close to 140kph my experience is that you're always able to pick up the length based on certain visual cues (such as...
Does anyone know how stat tracking works in the game?
Playing an "IPL" in competition mode with my created side in place of teh now defunt Pune Warriors.
Into my 8th game of the tournatment but every game all my players show nil stats and are making their "debuts".
On the flip side - in competition mode I made my number 11 batsman charge out of his crease 3 times in an over against the spinner. Missed it all 3 times and was a long way down but because the keeper takes so long to remove the bails I had plenty of time to get back.
I wonder if the AI...
All due respect but I don't think you've followed what I've said at all because the result would be the opposite of what you're suggesting.
For delivery types you would still have the same variety you have now just with MORE control over elemenst like trajectory, pace, spin, drift and dip...
I agree it's pretty good - definitely the best so far.
I guess it's just the spinner in me looking for more control over all those little elements that make spin such a challenging yet rewarding art form...
And to be honest the changes I'm suggesting aren't revolutionary to the control scheme...
While I enjoy spin bowling in the game (even if super fielders and over-aggressive AI do make it too easy at the moment) I?ve had a few thoughts about tweaking the system to give the user greater control over the delivery.
For ease of reference when discussing examples I?m assuming a right...
I also haven't really had an issue with stumpings...
If anything I find that the keeper is a little too slow to take the bails off (especialy if the ball is a little wide) giving the batsman plenty of time to get back into his crease after he's come charging down...
I've also noticed this with...
Ummm... yes they do.
You can create fields in the cricket academy and then use them in any game mode (offline anyway, not sure about online).
Admittedly the actual tool for creating fields is very clunky and slow but that's a different discussion entirely.
I'm able to both of these quite regularly now, it's really about timing and footwork - just keep practising.
I do think that flicks off the pads are far too overpowered though. If a spinner bowls at my pads with everyon on the leg side back on the boundary I should be able to just nudge it...
Try setting up a little deeper in your crease before the bowler starts (down on LAS). I find I'm less likely to drag my foot out when I do this (although you can be more vulnerable to LBW as you're right back on ur stumps)
Not sure if this is do-able without breaking the physics engine but I'd like to see the in close fielders less solid in general.
I don't know whether it is because they stay too big (ie don't try to duck and cover enough) but the incidences of getting a well timed shot past them vs hitting...
