I think if you look at Wright's ODI stats, (20.40 with the bat and 52.50 with the ball), you cant quite believe how he's played 40 games and continues to be played. However, in his case I believe the selectors disregard his stats to an extent and focus in on what he offers to the "team". Hence...

They're all talented players who as you say can change a game in a sesion, but Pietersen takes the game away from teams in such an imposing and dominating manor and, when on form, on a more frequent basis.

It's a shame as well because it's his "class" that sets him apart from other players. He can, (in form), take the game away from a side in a session but hasn't even had an occasion in the past 18 months when he's done that.

It could just be a backlash from her relationship with him as you said earlier in the thread. But he's still a disgusting cricketer imo. The drugs tests in 06 and now this. Class bowler but has had a lot of chances in his career.
