Ashu and Bala

thanks very much guys.

I hope that my Australia Vs India series will bring some excitement and attention

Just a reccomendation:As you have finished an entire series, perhaps you could just put the results and top scorer's of each match in the first post,so that any members who have missed a certain match dont have to search the 30 odd pages to find what happened in that match.

Another thing which could be done is like a contents thing where you point out which pages contain what matches.

These are just my views, you may or may-not implement these accoeding to your wishes.Looking fwd to the India series.

thats not a bad idea at all sid. ill look into that.

CASTLE LAGER ONE DAY SERIES ANALYSIS

AUSTRALIA

aus-wc03.jpg

Coming off a tense series draw in the test series, Australia were looking to fire on all cylinders to maintain their record at the top of the one day international table. The tourists definatly produced the goods as they walked away with a 3-0 series victory.

The first two games sore some of the closest most entertaining cricket in recent memory. Adam Gilchrist, 263 runs at 87.66, shone with the bat and was unfortunatly not helped out by the rest of the batting order. Michael Clarke showed what he can do when given an opportunity as he produced to magnificent innings to clinch victory.

Glenn McGrath took the greater share of the wickets for the bowlers. Claiming 8 at 16.75 while Brett Lee (6), Andrew Symonds (6) and Michael Clarke (6) all contributed. Unfortunatly the series sore the devistaging injury to Jason Gillespie who had failed to pick up a wicket in the series.

As the above shows, Adam Gilchrist continued his impressive form from the test series with a commanding performance with the bat. The bowlers shared the wickets around with Glenn McGrath and Brett Lee showing why they are two of the best bowlers in the world.

CASTLE LAGER ONE DAY SERIES ANALYSIS

SOUTH AFRICA

pltop-5-a.jpg

This will be remember as the series that got away for the Proteas. With a little bit of luck, South Africa could have quite easily have one this series 2-1. 2 nailbiting games left the crowds with the taste of defeat in their mouth but the international game looking as strong as ever.

Graeme Smith overcame a poor test series to hit back with 219 runs at an average of 73 while Jacques Kallis continued his good form with 101 runs. Shaun Pollock had a dissapointing series with the bat but took the most wickets of any team with 11 at an average of 31.

The statistics table above shows the crucial impact of the 3 key players, Smith, Kallis and Pollock. They have been serving their country well for a number of years now and were the vital cogs in the search for victory.

Looking good, however unless I noticed incorrectly there seems to be two 2nd Odi internationals.

The links seem to work fine, and now ill catch up on the matches I missed .Thanks.

Herschelle Gibbs was a disappointment with just 20 runs from the three games. The reason I am saying this is because during my Cricket 2004 days, I remember him causing the maximum damage.

Western Australia VS India

With the return of its Australian stars, this Western Australian lineup will give the Indians a good run in the lead up to the Australian test match tour. Gilchrist, Langer, Martyn, Hussey and Hogg all return for the home side while India are expected to play the same team that trounced New South Wales.

This match will be a 50 over one day first class game that should ensure that players like Gilchrist, Sehwag and Tendulkar entertain the crowd at the sold out WACA ground.

Openers Punish Warriors

Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag put on 137 for the opening partnership as India amassed a large total against the Western Australian Warriors in their 2nd tour match of the Australian home season.

Gambhir top scored with 74 while Sehwag was not far behind with 73 as India made 3/296 from 50 overs. Rahul Dravid also chimed in with 70 not out batting at number 4. Sachin Tendulkar was adjudged LBW for 70 to be the only dissapointment for the tourists.

Brad Hogg took 1/57 to be the pick of the bowlers on a hard pitch that definatly favoured the batsman.
