15th Match, Group F: Australia v India at Bridgetown

Id be bitter if they lost but I reckon England are a much better Twenty20 outfit then India in this tournament :)

Yeah, I'll admit that. But if we lose, it's because of our bowling, not our batting. We put too much pressure on ourselves by making ourselves chase that big a total. The batsmen had little choice but to go after it.

Sehwag >>> Vijay, Yuvraj, Raina etc etc! and Sachin >>> All

I never said anything about Sachin. He is LEGEND! But Sehwag is not. I wont agree that Sehwag is greater than Yuvraj or Raina in T20. Vijay is 3 matches old in T20, so its too early for you to say Vijay < Sehwag. Sehwag has been a flop in T20.

Superb over for India there, good hitting by Rohit. If India can get upto 134 (King Pietersen's predicted score), would be happy because the NRR wont be as badly hit.

Ian Chappell is happy today that his favorite Rohit Sharma is coming good.

Thank god Rohit is there because this would have been embarrassing. Dhoni was just pathetic, if you are going to be the captain then play like one.

For sure, Indian bowling has been a problem for a long time but most fans like to brush it under the rug by saying "Zaheer will lead us" :laugh

Well Zaheer is old and slow and on the way out, you guys are going to have to do a lot of scouting because the only young Indian bowler who looks halfway decent is Mishra

That's not why you've lost at all. This generation of Indian players cannot play short pitched bowling in this form of the game where they have to attack. It was proven in the last WC in England, and it's been proven here again. This total would have been chaseable if the batsmen knew how to face the short ball; the bowlers bowled poorly, but 180 is chaseable on this wicket if you bat properly.

Vaughan's been talking complete bollocks since he retired. No-one who knows anything about English cricket has taken anything he has said seriously. He's just desperate to remain relevant. He, Boycott and Botham are the only ex-pros I've seen that have a problem with the issue. All the players we've 'stolen' have British parenthood bar Morgan. There's no need to get all snipey and make idiotic statements just because you're annoyed at your own team's dismal performance. Surprised you weren't expecting a performance like this tbh. These Indian youngsters are proven failures against quick bowling on fast pitches.

I'm not annoyed. I expected this. My comment was a little tongue in cheek, but I don't really agree with how England has all these foreign players. Okay, it's all fine and well if they have English connections and blood, but England not breed them, and that's my issue.

Finally a wicket, that partnership was starting to get annoying. Dussey having a good game now in the field.

How many times do you see that in T20? A 6 and then a wicket straight away.

Rohit Sharma is playing brilliantly. That is above my expectations!

I would play Umesh Yadav next game. Jadeja and Yusuf ought to be dropped. Play Yadav and Dinesh Karthik next game. Cant drop any from the top order because we are getting into our main games.

They will immediately put blame on the IPL, the injuries to Virender Sehwag and Praveen Kumar (both are useless themselves, Sehwag is a waste himself in T20). Gary Kirsten will say "We couldnt monitor the players fitness while they were in IPL". Truth is, unless we find batsmen who can handle short pitched bowling well, we will continue to give performances like this. Only thing we can do is, use our cricket board's financial clout and make sure host countries prepare pitches with less bounce and pace.:facepalm

I believe the BCCI have already done that. If my memory if correct when India youred New Zealand in ealry 2009. The BCCI has enocuraged/forced (whichever term you prefer) to prepare flat decks instead of the traditional green-tops for that series.

But overall we clearly dont what such ignorance to happen in cricket. India's new generation of batsmen have to learn to play pace again.
Seriously, this team doesnt deserve any following. Our first tournament win was a fluke.:(

True. In the 2007 tournament nobody really went into that tournament taking T20 cricket that serious or knew fully what tactics to employ. Things have obviously developed since then.

Yes, they are weak against the short ball, but notice how they got out trying to play aggressive shots. They were going for boundaries and sixes off nearly every ball. They put too much pressure on themselves after a poor bowling performance. They are weak against short bowling, but not to this extent (101/8).
