No cricket mind will think AFG go wham bam against NZ. However you're undermining AFG team mate. India played better cricket that day. Every team has an off day. AFG is way better than that. Village standard is too harsh of a word to describe their cricket standard

The venue is Abu Dhabi which in this tournament has better batting conditions compared to that of Dubai and Sharjah.

Afghanistan might have had a better chance in those venues than Abu Dhabi due to their spinners.

But against New Zealand in all Fairness with Kane Williamson at the helm (he is superb with his captaincy & tactics) they should wrap this up and Play England in the semis which will be a repeat of last tournament semifinal between the same side in 2016.

All this hype is good for viewership and money making for the broadcasters,BCCI and eventually ICC.

Also because their batsmen are not as good at strike rotation. They have a dots and boundaries approach, which works better on smaller grounds like Sharjah.

Afghanistan stand a chance if they put up a good score, one thing they've got going for them is their spinners and NZ's batsmen aren't really in form. They need a 180 score to seriously put NZ under pressure. Although that's all a fairytale, expect Boult to leave them 3 down by the end of the powerplay and Sodhi to choke them in the middle overs.

2 down already....... New Zealand won't be under any sort of pressure. This side just knows what to do at what stage and with KW at helm they are always going to be in driver's seat. Still not too sure about Conway batting in the middle-order. He is the best opener in New Zealand right now and must open at all costs!!

They'll be in the Semis pretty comfortably today.
