2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup - India (UAE/Oman)

I am sorry but he should have not even played todays match. In Covid times players health has to be the utmost priority. Disappointed that Pakistan let him participate and play. That photo looks scary. His todays knock makes it even more special despite losing.

Like I criticized Pakistanis (stupid ones not all) on how they spread stupidity via social media on Fixing and the curators death, absolutely shambolic to see how Indians are behaving and cursing Sania Mirza on supporting her husband. Would they do the same if her husband was not Pakistani but a Joe Root or Steven Smith? LET CRICKET BE CRICKET.

I said it earlier as well. Australia are a different team in KO games and Pakistan would have had to play out of their skins to win this one. The intensity dropped a bit towards the fag end of the game, wherein Australia seized the match.

An excellent match, a great contest- I have to say, India wouldn't have been able to match the intensity required here. That said, I was a tad disappointed with Babar Azam- his captaincy looked out of sorts yesterday. Yes, before you guys jump on me and say that he has done a great job- Yes, he has, but he faltered where required. Babar's captaincy, tactics, body language showed he was under pressure- could do with that tbh.

As a Kiwi, I'm happy that Australia made it through, simply because this Pakistan team has been absolutely superb, and I was terrified of facing them again. (Maybe a bit over-reliant on a few players, but when all of those few are firing at once, it's pretty hard to stop.) Rizwan and Afridi have been absolutely magical the whole tournament.

As a cricket fan I am gutted that the 2 best teams of the tournament are out, what a game that could've been...

Condolences to Pakistan and England fans, you should be super proud of your team though, both were incredible to watch the entire way through.

We had Hussey in 2010, we have Stoinis now! Man can't win a game to save his life!
This did not age well :p

Great to witness two nail biters as semi-finals. Heartbreaks are part and parcel of the game, can't help but wonder if Pakistan feel that they have been robbed of a WC trophy. It was their's for the taking. They just had the misfortune of running into some exceptional and unbelievable batting in the last 2-3 overs.

So, the final - My money's on NZ. England could have made things interesting but I think Australia might not be as much of a threat to them.

I don't know whether people are off the opinion that Australia are a terrible side because they were whitewashed by West Indies & Bangladesh or because they don't really have the kind of players.

Australia are 3rd team in terms of most away wins since the 2016 WT20 and has the 3rd best win% in the same time amongst teams who play more than 40 matches(barring Afghanistan) in the same period. Also, they won a T20I series in India & a tri-series in New Zealand with the same players that are playing in this tournament.

So what makes them bad? Recent form? Approach? Inconsistency? Batting Collapses? It just feels everything together, but..... Australia haven't played a full strength team since ages in this format so how are we going to judge them?

There is no stopping Australia now.

They are gonna hammer the Kiwis in the Final.
Depends on the following factors

1. Toss
2. Powerplay
3. How they would play the spin twins Sodhi & Santner
3. Dew factor
4. Death bowling/batting at death

New Zealand will have to make a change since Conway is out. Kane Williamson isn't in the greatest of forms with the bat. Daryl Mitchell although turned it around beautifully in the last game but he has looked mediocre apart from that. Boult's been inconsistent while Southee often picks a day to perform which he already had against Pakistan. It doesn't look good for New Zealand.

What a great tournament for Pakistan. Great World Cup campaign. We fought like champions. Winning and Losing is a part of game, of course it hurts a lot when your team loses this close however if the team fights bravely then that is what required at the end of the day. Australia was clearly the better team in some aspects yesterday.

In my view, we gave Aussies the run of their money with such powerful striking and a solid opening stand. They dropped catches too because of the Semis pressure getting them as well. Pakistan won more sessions in yesterday's game but credit to Aussies that they clinch the match at the last hour. The good thing about their chase that they maintained their run-rate well and in T20 40 runs required in 24 balls with 5 wickets in hand is not a big deal for a team like Australia. In T20, there is a little room for error, the run outs missed chances and the dropped catch costed us the match.

Moreover, Imad's one over was left and he should have been tried out in place of Hasan Ali in the final overs. Also, Hafeez also bowled well apart from the unfortunate incident when the ball slipped through his hands. (Bad Spirit of Cricket by David Warner and it was expected from him Tbh, even if he got out on that ball, it was a poor show by him on that particular delivery)

Lastly, I must praise the two great players of our team. Babar and Rizwan. First of all, Babar Azam has proved that he is the best batsmen of the shorter format. He is such a class player. He reminds of Sachin Tendulkar class. Pure batsman who played some really beautiful shots against Starc and Hazlewood. He is always pleasing to watch.

Rizwan is the "Man of the Tournament" I believe. His performances and commitment speak for itself. I won't be surprised if he gets Man of the Series Award. I believe he is the Top Scorer of the tournament.

Overall, we achieved a lot and In Sha Allah this loss will give the team motivation to rectify the mistakes and clinch the next year's World Title. :)

I don't know why would you consider it as something against the spirit of the game? With this logic even beamers and full tosses resulting in a boundary or a six should be considered in the same bracket. This is competitive Cricket and you just got to make the opportunity count. Whether it just slipped out of the hand or whatever, it just asked to be hit like that.

Jonathan Trott in a Test match tried a similar thing to Jadeja back in 2012 (Jadeja's debut Test) and nobody came up with such an argument just because he failed to hit that one. More so, it can also be termed as poor sportmanship on Hafeez's part to try and distract that batsman with a delivery like that against the run of play. Who knows he might've bowled that on purpose?

Not possible, Hafeez track record against left-handers has been exemplary, why in the world he would have tried to distract Warner like this. It was clear slip of hands. Anyhow, that is my view no matter if there is Jonathan Trout or Sachin Tendulkar even, it was against the spirit of the game but obviously if the rules allow him its fine. Its more one of the individual things than the rules.

It was a pretty amazing shot from Warner to hit that ball for six because it was a terrible delivery.

I seem to remember Michael Slater, I think it was him, hitting one from short cover for four that had ended up there after a poor release. The rule has subsequently changed. In Warner's case the ball was active, as far as I'm concerned.
