2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup - India (UAE/Oman)

TO THE MOON!
TO THE MOON!
TO THE BLOODY ****IN MOON!

Forgive me Mitch Marsh for doubting you :')

MMarsh is a gun white ball cricketer, just that him at three wasn't in the best interests of the national side. Doubt they care when they've got the trophy though.

Most random tournament win ever. But credit to them, they were great in clutch moments.

And Rest is History

Really random tournament. I'm biased I suppose but I still think England are the best T20 side in the world. But the random nature of T20 cricket, added to the complete randomness of a coin toss means it could go anywhere.

I saw a stat too that said the pre tournament favourite has never won the T20 World Cup which says a lot about how unpredictable the format is.

Yeah I thought India were the favourites to win the tournament but they didn't have a great tournament, I didn't expect Australia to win it and that's why people enjoy T20 more now.

I told this early that the results in this tournament dont mean a damn thing when the toss has created such a massive sway on the results. The best teams of the tournament (England and Pakistan) got knocked out due to the toss. Most games won by teams losing the toss was against Associate teams (its hard for me to recall a game where two test playing nations faced each other and the game was won by the team losing the toss).

Well played to Australia though!!! Warner found the gun moment to regain his mojo back! They were obviously helped a lot by the frequent chases, which played into their hands but credit to them to seizing it all!

P.s: Was talking to a relative while watching the game and was discussing about how cricket could tackle this dew factor and maybe go the baseball way where innings are split (for e.g. T20 can be split into 4 innings of 10 overs each where teams batting alternatively) and ensuring that when dew happens, both teams have an equal taste of it. This idea was also mentioned by Sachin Tendulkar some years back when the value of ODI format was being put to question. I feel strongly that white ball formats have to seriously think on these lines to neutralize the dew advantage.

Why didn't Zampa become Man of the Tournament?

Batsman's performance > Bowler's performance?
