2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup - India (UAE/Oman)

I wouldn’t rest anyone. Full steam ahead. Give Hasan the two games to regain form.

Yeah, you have a point, however, if Hafeez is unable to perform against Scotland and Namibia, would you risk him to induct in the Semis or will expose Haider at a knockout stage? Similar case with Hasan Ali. He is the weakest link in the lineup. However, Hafeez form is more of a worrying sign. Hasan, at least taking wickets here and there. I would say inducting Haider in place of Hafeez in the upcoming matches is not much risky than exposing an out-of-form Hafeez in the Semi-Finals. What if Hafeez fails against Namibia and then again fails in Scotland. If they plan to induct Haider in the Semis, Give him these two games to boost his confidence. Tough choices ahead. Just a view. Let's see.

PS: Who is Waseem Junior? Where did he perform to be a worthy call for the T20 Squad? Is he better than Shahnawaz Dhani? I have seen Dhani, he is a good prospect, however no idea about Waseem junior.

Hafeez's bowling is crucial, he shouldn’t be dropped.

My 2 cents on India chances in WC. First of all, it's quite bizarre that they are getting their 2nd game after virtually half the tournament is gone. Secondly, In my view, either there won't be any middle ground for them now. Either they will come back strong or they will collapse altogether. Tomorrow's game is quite crucial for both sides. Would be a treat to watch. India's record against New Zealand is not that great in ICC events in the recent past however this won't matter much. Personally, a lose against Pakistan and having a second crunch match against Newzeland considering that Pakistan is almost into the Semis and Afghans are Roaring already, Things are not looking good for India.

Yeah but only against Left-Handers. I wish he gets into form sooner than later.

Honestly a loss for India tomorrow and an early exit from the tournament won't hurt at all. It'll be a great kick in the butt and a massive wake up call (I know BCCI and the selectors are not known to react positively to multiple wake up calls in the past!) with 2 back to back ICC events coming up in the next two years.

Finally it's Sunday.
It's match day!

Was waiting for this since so long.

So much excited for this thrilling encounter...

The semi finalists will highly depend on the result of this match.

Afghanistan vs Namibia ! ! !

You know, I am actually gunning for an Indian loss today. As aforementioned, this T20 WC is giving me the CWC 2007 vibes. Wouldn't be bad at all for India, if they lose today

No disrespect, however this NZ side doesn't look as intimidating as the Afghan and Pakistan side! With all arguments, rights and wrong aside, I think India will get a W today. Real match for them will be on Wednesday.

I think India are a side that performs better when they've got everything against the wall. And this is the ideal scenario. Following are the reasons:-

1) India lost to Pakistan
2) They have not beaten New Zealand since 2003 WC
3) They are down and out in the points table and most of them have started to write them off

What adds to India's advantage is-

They've got a week's rest plus they are pretty much accustomed to the conditions after a 3 week long IPL season.

Sorry but I am bound to disagree that New Zealand will steam roll India. I feel India would somehow win today.

Exactly, let's be positive and cheer for our team, hope they get the selection right though.

Well this isn't the @SaiSrini I know. You were one of the most passionate Indian Cricket team fans on this board. Possibly you are just tired and no longer find attachment to this team (I guess you posted it earlier) and that is why you don't feel like expecting anything good and neither you are as hurt with India losing as you used to get in the past.

I guess I wouldn't be wrong to assume had Rohit/Shreyas been India's Captain an Indian loss would actually hurt?

D-day for India...in fact almost every game is crucial.

Going by form, I would be plesantly surprised if India win today. Add to it that NZ are definitely the stronger team on paper, I do not have high hopes.

Theoretically, India can still go through if they lose today but it's gonna take some doing.

India win today because the TV people need India v England/Australia in the semi finals.
And TV people wanted Australia to fight it out for their Semi-final spot hence England won by a huge margin yesterday? Also they wanted a close match so Pakistan struggled against Afghanistan. :p

Such a lame logic. :lol
