It was a fitting end to India's dismal tournament. I know the tournament is a lottery and the toss played a massive part in India's fortunes and all, but you just CANNOT qualify for the semifinals without having beat atleast one out of the two big teams in your group. India did not beat either PAK or NZ and hence deserved that exit!! Wouldn't have felt good at all for me if we had qualified for semis by just beating AFG, NAM and SCOT.
Lot of eyes on the BCCI/selectors and what route do they take for the ODI World Cup in 2023. Honestly according to me, India cannot have Rohit handling the team for the 2022 WT20 and Virat for the ODI WC 2023. Though they are different formats, the line between them is incredibly thin and it makes logical sense to have Rohit lead India into both the upcoming ICC events and also groom a future captain under him (pray to god its not KL Rahul; really hope its Shreyas Iyer).
