2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup - Australia

This is indeed the biggest worry for the Indian bowling unit now. No one’s there really to crank the pace up and above 140 kph barring Pandya unless Shami or Siraj are in the team. Difficult to trust either of them given their history of being expensive but it’ll have to be a risk to take now if only to avoid having the sameness throughout the pace unit.

In case someone wants to have a look at the article from which @CerealKiller got the graph, here you go.

The graph is also interactive which should make for some interesting data analysis if anyone’s got the time. For my part it did confirm that Shami’s the only legitimate high pace option we have other than Siraj (whose data is missing in said article because he wasn’t previously in the extended squad) and shows how similar most of the other options are. Asking Pandya to crank it up every game isn’t a feasible solution at all. Will have to play around and see what else is in this glorious article.

Bangladesh have replaced Sabbir Rahman and Saifuddin with Soumya Sarkar and Shoriful Islam.

Can’t say I hate those changes, the former two failed to impress and I’d rather have a natural opener (even one as inconsistent as Soumya) over an out of position and clueless Sabbir. Shoriful should have also received a longer rope in the first place, good to see him being restored for Saifuddin who looks like a ghost of his former self.
