I was just looking at the qualification process for the next tournament, because I remember there being some controversy among associates.
As one of the hosts is the USA, there will be a place up for grabs to another qualifier from the Americas (so there's an assumption Canada are basically getting a free place).
Then there's the top 8 from this tournament (which is a rule I like a lot).
Then, there's two places from T20i rankings (The remaining places, via the automatic qualification route, will be taken by the next two highest-ranked teams in the
ICC Men's T20I Team Rankings as of 14 November 2022).
So, it looks like Zimbabwe, by qualifying for the second stage will have a good chance of securing rankings qualification. Unless, Ireland or Netherlands take some big scalps.
Finishing in the top 8 for Ireland or Netherlands would be huge, because there's only two European qualification spots, so one of the European teams in this tournament is likely to miss out.
Scotland and Namibia's big results might help but probably not given Zimbabwe qualifying for the Super 12s.
If the qualification went with the current rankings, which could change a bit after this tournament, 2024 could look like this (the teams in yellow are those in the Super 12s:
