2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup - Australia

Kane sapping the momentum already, 5th and 6th over are supposed to be the hardest for a bowler.
@Bevab anyone who can replace him like Tim David did with Smith?

It’s a bit more difficult for NZ though ain’t it, Australia had the best T20 finisher in the last 12 months waiting in the wings to replace an out of position Smith where as Kane is the skipper and there isn’t a natural replacement for him in the XI even in the domestic setup let alone the current WC squad. They’d have to rejig their lineup slightly to make it work but if it were up to me

Allen
Mitchell
Conway
Phillips
Chapman
Neesham
Macewell

Yes I have Macewell in there because at least he can bat unlike Sodhi.
Is it just me or it feels like this is a pitch from Dubai or Mumbai, rather than Australia.

Since when did slower balls and spin became the strategy to win in Australia.

I was expecting chin music, but this feels like an away game for Australia

Didn’t follow the match today so can’t be sure of how it was personally but I did say that surfaces this year were comparatively slower to the past in Australia. Wonder if La Nina will make a change to them.
New Zealand got the advantage thanks to Allen's innings, and they never lost it. Even Williamson’s awful innings didn’t hold them back much. A quick Powerplay start is priceless.

You must be a special talent to dislodge ‘one of the boys’ in a conservative team and that’s what Allen is. Especially in Australia as I’ve seen throughout the BBL in past seasons a good powerplay is key due to the slightly longer boundaries and the slower outfield now.

I do not understand why Afghanistan keep persisting with Zazai

Shahidullah is the only other young talent I know who could replace him (haven’t been in the loop for Afghanistan cricket in a while).
