2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup - Australia

Shan Masood looks likely to finish the innings on a tidy 45* off 40 while everyone else gets out slogging around him. Simultaneously doing the job that was given to him and playing what looks like a match-losing innings

Also known around these parts as doing a Misbah.

This seems to be a pre-mediated decision from the management and it is quite brainless. Might work if one hitter manages to score 30 from 15 or something with Masood tidying things up at the other end.

Yeah it’s good in theory but you gotta assess the conditions, you cannot hit sixes off pace apart from the straight boundaries. Just brainless.

Poor batting this by Pakistan now.

Those 2 shots were unwarranted.
It wasn't the shot selection that was the problem imo - if you want to have a crack at clearing the 70m boundary in the 14th over of a T20, then you've probably got the right idea. The problem was that they did it off-balance, without moving their feet to either get nearer to the ball or give themselves a stable base to swing from. Meant that all the power had to come from their arms and wrists, as opposed to using their whole bodies. Poor technique

They're batting like the have come in with 3 overs left. Ifthikhar had given them some breathing room to take a little more time.

I don’t think relying on 30 from 15 because Iftikhar managed to smash Axar is a poor strategy.

Am I the only one who thinks Shan looks a bit like Daniel Riccardo?

It was not a bad strategy, just bad execution. Especially by Haider, that was idiotic after a wicket earlier in the over
