Abduallah Shafique came in so let's see how he takes over from Fakhar Zaman. I really hope Pakistan plays positive cricket, clearly, the slower balls started sticking a bit in the end and with SL's spinners they will actually be able to do what Pakistani spinners couldn't!

I have said this before and I will say it now, Pakistan's bowling is their weak point not their strong point. Over reliance and wanting Shaheen to always get those inswinging yorkers. He is not going to come good in Indian conditions as often.

More than their batting, I think Pakistan did them a huge favour by bowling poorly. I expect Babar and Rizwan to stat pad most of the time, leaving the hard work to Shadab and Ifti Chacha.

It would make sense if they had someone who had a proven record or made a statement (e.g. Malan ahead of Roy). But, dropping a guy after one match for someone who has done neither is absurd.

Shafique may well get some big runs today but I wouldn't call it a good decision so much as a lucky one.

Toothless captaincy, terrible field placements

Bobby needs to give up captaincy, the burden is clearly weighing him down. Since becoming captain, Babar's only had 1 good tournament (2021 T20 WC).

He's ghosted in one T20 WC, two Asia Cups, and potentially one CWC.

Pretty insane how fast form can change, would have said Pakistan were the most in form team a few months back and they had a squad suited to these conditions too
