I hear an ex Pakistan cricketer is planning to return and make a fool of himself for the nth time?

Great to see Umar Akmal performed in this fashion. He has always been a special talent... the only problem had been his attitude towards the game of cricket.

For the World Cup, We despertely needs a specialist middle order batsman who can not only consolidate without much dropping of the run-rate but also has firepower and be more reliable than Malik and Hafeez. I dont see this in Asif Ali. If Umar Akmal gets his attitude right and comes back in form he can.be tried out against Australia after PSL. We really need back ups here in batting and an in form Umar Akmal is a very good option.

For Lahore Qalanders, I'd say briefly that they should not rely too heavily on ABD. I wont even mind dropping him if he occupies space with a bad run. Thank GOD he is not the captian otherwise you would be having another brandon mccullam in this PSL. While I admire ABD what he has done to shorter format cricket. He brought innovation like no other but you cant just drag a retired player and expect that he will perform like he used to be in his golden era. Qalanders though can learn from his vast diversified shorter format experience though.

Qalanders should bank more on the local talent and the emerging talent they ga ga about entire year. With ABD alone, if you expect you will win PSL ? Then hope for a miracle. Though overall Lahore Qalanders seem more powerful than before this time.

I would be very hesitant about jumping the gun on this. It's only a few innings, and t20 innings at that. He was far too problematic, and I absolutely hated how he went to Imran Khan with a sulking face like a child. I would rather have a consolidator there. Someone more mature at 4. Fawad Alam? No, I didn't say that. I know that's a bad word around the PCB. Someone who can bat the long innings and move both Hafeez and Malik down one spot instead. But, not to take anything away, he has looked impressive in the small sample size.[DOUBLEPOST=1550453983][/DOUBLEPOST]In other observations, I've been impressed with that fast bowler Rauf in the few innings so far. Is there no pace gun at PSL? How fast is he bowling? Could be a nice prospect. And also, even though he hasn't scored many runs, there is something good about the young Rizwan Hussain. Always a good start to have Sanga as your role model. He at least looks good. Hoping for some big performances from him.

I understand what you are directing towards Umar Akmal. At thr moment though, He is smashing the ball really well. His speciality is that he plays the ball quite late hence he always have good enough time to go for his shots.

I won't recommend someone like Fawad Alam for a One Day team. His style of play suited to test cricket though its a big injustice with him not inducting him in PSL. We have Haris Sohail instead who can really conslidate well in middle order. But he has fitness issues. I was also impressed with Umar Amin yesterday. So we really have some good options but for sure team must have backups ready. Cant just take huge risk with Malik and Hafeez alone.

Haris Rauf pace is around 142 on average. Looks a good find. What is differentiating him with others is his aggression. Lets see how he fairs ahead. If all goes well, he should be tried out against Australia as we desperately needs pace battery at the moment

Butt has served his ban long enough. I think he deserves every right to be in squad based on cricketing merits.
