The 2025 ICC Champions Trophy will be the ninth edition of the ICC Champions Trophy, a 50-over international cricket tournament.
It will be hosted by Pakistan for the first time in its history and will be contested by a record TWENTY teams currently holding ODI status.

Having cancelled the tournament after the previous edition in 2017, the ICC reinstated the Champions Trophy after an 8-year gap.
ICC repackaged it from an eight-team, single round-robin affair to its original knockout format and opened it to all teams with ODI status.

Pakistan will enter the tournament as the defending champions, having trounced India in the final of the 2017 edition at The Oval.
It will be the first ICC event hosted by Pakistan since the 1996 ICC Cricket World Cup, and also the first ICC event hosted solely by them.

Qualification

Every team holding ODI status automatically qualifies for the ICC Champions Trophy.

Pitch Types

:bwl::down: Damp/Sticky - Massively in favor of bowlers and an absolute nightmare to bat on, unless you're Victor Trumper.
:left::right: Dusty - Plenty of turn on offer for spinners and a good place to bat for spin-savvy batsmen. Good pace bowlers are still likely to thrive.
:ar::up: Even - Provides an evenly balanced contest for all disciplines of the game.
:bat::left: Flat - A batsman-friendly pitch which provides little or no assistance to bowlers. Expect big totals.
:bwl::up: Green - A lot of movement on offer early on, making it ideal for fast bowlers. Batting expected to become easier as the match progresses.
:ar::left: Hard - Ideal conditions for batting. Good deal of bounce on offer for fast bowlers as well. Could go either way.
:right::left: Dry/Slow - Ideal for slow and spin bowlers as the name suggests. Sometimes quite difficult to bat on.
:down: Poor - Uneven bounce and a huge amount of turn on offer for spinners. Expect a slow hard grind for very few runs.
