Also, the slog sweep is very good. Great work by Homie too. Any chance of uploading the first batch of videos onto Youthcluster, LM?

Also, I did notice that all the shots were on the legside, and most went to square leg. lt would be great if there was a bit more variety. Some cut shots, drives etc.

the first batch of vids is up on the official TCP site now too so no need to put on youthcluster...all vids are now on the official site...i have also uploaded a new one for Matt to post...it is a 40MB High quality video of one short play...but shows a flipper in action

there were cut shots and cover drives and square drives in the first batch and an on drive in the second batch of vids....

Holmie just saw the teaser. Loved the commentary. I wish we could use commentary from tv in the video along with our commentators from Planetcricket.

@ LM, I was just in religion (bloody catholic schools) and the teacher didnt turn up, so i showed everyone the vids, needless to say they were very impressed, no one knows how you could possibly have come so far. BTW, the pull shot (the one where the guy kinda gets down a bit) was defs the fav shot, it looks perfect

i could do that any one want commentary i will record games and post but how i will post is the prob if someone casn tell me then ill do for sure. and i alsowant new commentary in cric games now!

will ftp have that much space a whole match's commentary maybe around 500 MB or even more we might need to get some misc lines which were not in the match i dont know. oh yea . someone gimme a good format i think wav is larger than mp3. anything more convenient than mp3?

Or as whitehornmatt has said, we can use ogg format.
I'm sure The Cricket Project will have a plethora of mirrors at its disposal so that the game can be downloaded effectively.

lee thats brilliant! we just need to keep recording these and try to get a line for every shot, lbw, bold, etc. theres still alot of cricket to be played and we can start recording now and by the time the game releases we will have plenty. anyways im sure LM will make it easy for us to add more. so is it official that we should start collecting real commentary? we can also use the commentary from Duff and others.

I want to stick with our own commentators rather than ripping 'real' commentary for the final release, though this is great for teaser vids...

What if it was unlockable we could still keep the normal Planetcricket commentators.

If we cant do commentators can we record crowd sounds?

My advice is to steer clear of including anything taken directly from a broadcaster, names are fine, they can't be copywrited, logos should fall under "fair use" but sound effects and commentary are definately best left to our own work, because if anyone would sue over this project, the most likely candidates would be the networks.
