hello to all planetcricket members,:)

Dont u think an ODI match's gametime 8 Hours are bit longer :noway,,as far as after watching lot of T20 i also feel that T20 are too fast because total time 3 hours also look in so hurry that every player just try to hit the ball whether it is gud or bad that looks really odd to me sometims ,,,yet i enjoy t20 ,,,

i think cutting 10 overs from an ODI and making it 40 overs game would make it more exciting and it will complete in 6 Hours .............:banana2

What you think?:hpraise

what about 30 overs, nicely in the middle, because in England there alredy is a Pro 40

I'm a huge fan of the 40 over format. Personally I don't see the problem with spending all day watching cricket. If I could spend all day, every day watching live cricket then I would (And I mean at grounds, not on TV). I don't see that there is really much difference in the quality of cricket, or the tactics in playing 40 overs over 50. The big plus that 40 overs has is you can start it just after lunch, so if you a going to the ground, you can have lunch then have an afternoon watching it and if you are watching it on TV, you get to spend you morning doing jobs you are required to do before vegging out in front of the TV for an afternoon. If you think 40 overs of cricket is too long then you probably have A.D.D. and cricket probably isn't the game for you anyway ;)

Well, it's actually 80 overs of cricket Kev. About 6 hours. You don't need ADD to get bored by that.

I know it's 80 overs (max), it's just not usual to refer to it by both innings. The single innings is sufficient. If you don't like 40 over cricket and don't have ADD then you just don't like cricket! Either that or you are watching a bad match, but don't let that put you off.

An ODI can be brought down to 40 overs, and can also be played like a mini test match (2 innings of 20 overs each with sides taking turns for each session of 20 overs). We can have a 30 minute break after the 2nd innings and the game ends after the 4th innings (just the change over break of a few mins between the rest of the innings).

Good god no!!!!

It's being suggested for the new (and when I say new, I mean old) sunday league for the English domestic season. Whoever thought 20/20/20/20 was a good idea needs to be lined up against a wall and shot.

Honestly it's totally idiotic. The only rational for this decision I could see is this:

"Twenty20 is popular, and we get lots of spectators.

So if we have 2 Twenty20 games in one we get twice the spectators as logically if people love Twenty20 they will doubly love 20/20/20/20."

Obviously the person who thought of this is a moron.

I quite like that idea. Something different! ODI's are not as indispensable as tests because tests are the ultimate form of cricket whereas ODI's are not (they were introduced to commercialize the game, thats all). 4 innings of 25 overs (if they stick to 100 overs a game) or 4 innings of 20 overs would be interesting to watch. Players have to deal with breaks in momentum (in a full 50 overs, they have the flow, but here their flow is tampered with after 20 overs).

P.s: What kind of a gun do you have for shooting me?:p;)

So pretty much it's an extended 20/20 game. No thanks.

I think Kiwis had domestic tournament similar to T20 which had 4 innings.

SuperMax cricket. It was 20 over cricket basically but both teams had 10 overs per innings. It never took of anywhere else though.

Probably because it's a rubbish idea.

I wouldn't mind 40 over cricket coming in. I love watching the Domestic Pro40 games, there's far less of a dull patch in the middle of the game like in a 50 over game. I like ODi's alot, so it'd be a real shame to see them dumped, but it's looking like it could happen. Losing the proper Cricket World Cup would be a real shame.

Yeah it was.

40 overs ODI Best

At present in ODI middle 10 overs look so boring,,,but when we are talking about cutting overs from 50 overs to make it more exciting then we have to keep in mind,it should be slightly long because that is the beauty of ODI,

I favor always 40 overs because it would complete in 6 Hours so far;)
