Finally England won the Ashes. It was because of Aussies poor 1st innings. Anyway i hope Aussies will soon be back to their form.

How do you mean 'finally'? We won it four years ago as well: before that, we hadn't won it for around fifteen years.

Im not talking about the ones who just discuss cricket I'm talking about the people who go on about the South Africa crap, you weren't complaining after Headingley so stfu.

You aren't going to go out and destroy all comers now either, you've lost 3 out of the last 4 and this time there is no Langer, McGrath, Warne, Gilchrist, Hayden.

Hughes is a class player, I was relieved as hell when you dropped him.

I'm pretty sure most of that was tongue firmly in cheek.

Well, England have defeated us.

Great... Well done you geezers.

Questions have to be asked about our team after winning against SA but not being able to back it up in England.

Swing did it again for the Poms this time around (well for the 2nd and 3rd test anyways). The dustbowl at The Oval was a good ploy from the groundsman because they knew we wouldn't bring in a specialist spinner - but ah well, thats cricket. We do it, India does it, England are allowed to do it.

Ponting would be gutted and I feel for him, Mike Hussey, your a tosser, used to love you but your past it mate and those run outs really cost us. If Huss got a hundred on that pitch imagine what Ponting/Clarke could of done? :sarcasm

I hate watching England celebrate but maybe the loss is a good thing for this new team and hopefully kickstarts another hardcore attack on every nation like last time we lost the Ashes.

We'll be back.

And the trick for us this time round is to not get too high up in the clouds over this, like we did in 2005.

If Hussey keeps his place (Which the gutless selectors will do), he'll probably tear it up against them. Get someone under 30 in there. Hussey should just retire now. If he was in good form then he would stay in the side, but he's not. He's far too inconsistent right now and we need a scapegoat. It's ridiculous if no one gets dropped out of all this.

1. Hughes
2. Katich
3. Ponting
4. Clarke
5. Snorks
6. Watson
7. Manou
8. Johnson
9. Lee
10. Siddle
11. Hilfenhaus

Oh how I love the irony of an Australian bemoaning us having players born outside of England. :)

I have serious doubts in whether or not we should have Watson in our side going forward. He's neither the batsmen or bowler we need. Haddin also still has a role to play, especially as he's not much older than Manou. Personally I'd rather see a spinner in Lee's place going foward too. Though we may be forced to play 4 quicks more in the future if we don't find that spinner.

What irony is there to have?

Symonds, Wessels and Grimmett (one of Australia's most legendary players) spring to mind immediately.

I was thinking more along the lines of every Australian to have ever existed...

Haha, This.

The best thing about beating the crims is when they start whinging. "Oh you're all South African anyway". I don't care. You lost. Unlucky sons, jog on.

For the record. Ben dismissed Stuart Broad's 5fer, apparently only the ball to dismiss Hussey was a good delivery. The rest were solely down to Australia batting poorly. :laugh
