A cricket Dictatorship

Well, obviously it's a terrible idea. The fact that those 3 boards should take a priority is entirely wrong. The share of revenue going that way would result in even weaker sides from the other nations and the affiliates, when we should in fact be giving them more money to try to improve the structures that they currently have.

I'm not a fan of Divisions in Test cricket because you can have teams 'relegated' meaning that we would miss out on the Ashes for example. And although the proposal would solve this, it's a terrible idea that a competition can exist in which everyone can win, but only certain countries can lose.

It's a horrible proposal and I hope it doesn't go through, because it could be the beginning of the end for a lot of nations. The BCCI, CA and ECB aren't going to go out of business if they don't get more money, but other boards might well do if they receive less or the same amount as present.

A BIG NO to this if cricket is to grow in other nations ,esp the not so funded or countries that dont get enough matches even from their big neighbors like kenya ,ban, ire, zim are to have any hope of surviving as this condition is likely to get worse

I would be a fan of a 12 team test competition with two divisions. I'd also have the third tier of countries playing regular first class cricket against each other, and the winner of that replacing the team who finishes 6th in the second division. It would make every test match so competitive. Even test matches that would before have been dead matches, as one team had already won the series, would have much greater significance. As a consequence, you'd see far less players wanting to be relieved of their test match duties in order to complete a full IPL programme.

However, the fact that 3 nations would be given get out of jail free card is a terrible idea. If finishing 6th in the first division means that there would be no possibility of an Ashes series for 2 or 3 years, then so be it. Both teams would have to prove that they are good enough to be competitive in an Ashes series. It would make every series between the two countries even more special, rather than it just being killed as it is currently by playing it 4 times in quick succession.

The logic of this proposal is insane ,even kids playing in the street would know ,if you keep alienating the other kids from decisions, a day will come were they lose interest and you will be left without anyone to play with.

It's a great proposal, I like the idea of a two tier test ranking system but of course without the oligarchy of the BCCI, CA and ECB.

I totally agree with the Ashes idea too, then we shouldn't end up with the mismatches we saw for 15 years from the late 80s to the early 00s. If the two teams aren't good enough to play against one another, so be it.
