Hi there people.

As I'm sure many of you know., I play hockey and cricket and I am quite good at both to be modest ;)

However an old rugby injury keeps showing up where I suffered a broken leg, and it is getting worst. Now I have been told I could play hockey for Scotland possibly GB if I train hard, but I enjoy batting more. Obviously now that it is nearing winter it doesn't matter, but what sport should I do in spring/summer, because if I do both I risk putting too much strain on my knee/leg, and might end up not being able to do any of them. See the problem?

Do you see a carreer in cricket? Have you been talked about with good squads like you have with Hockey?
If you have its a matter of personal interest and how much fun you have and decide which you like better.

Hope this helps :)

I don't have a carrer in cricket but I play for my club's first team which I do enjoy. But it would be cool to play sport for a country, and I have been on the fringes of Scotland selection now for U18 for some time now, and that is with only 2 practises a week because of cricket

How would you feel for the rest of your life knowing you didnt go for National selection at Hockey if you end up as an ageing village cricketer?

True Kev. That is right I need to get my priorities straight and I suppose hockey is something i really enjoy or else why should I play it?

Ok mate, this is my take on things.

When i was a nipper (god i sound like an old man, Jonah's with me on this one) i had the chance to play cricket, but was never interested in it. I did have the chance to play hockey. Looking back i made the wrong choice, i so wish i had decided to play cricket because i love it so much now. I will always regret that for the rest of my life. Hockey is for girls in short skirts, cricket is for men.

Thats all you need to know, now pad up and bat!

Leave the sport of cricket and other garbage during the summer/spring time, rather focus on your fitness and staying healthy for next season, also getting into indoor hockey during that time would be a bonus as you can learn more skills and other stuff that you can't learn in field hockey. I play for San Francisco club both field and indoor, my best advice is keep yourself fit and healthy for the next season! :-)

Do which is best for you, and which you can go further in and good luck!!

cricket in winter.cricket in winter!..hockey stiffs your body..play the cool cricket.:D:p

Yes but he has more of a chance of gettin a job in hockey.

Neither. Go out and get smashed, pull women left right and centre. Fabulous.

But seriously, it's a no brainer. Go with hockey.

For sure, if he has no chance at being anything in cricket, hockey is the choice.
