Pakistan peg India back

Pakistan have sensationally halted Indias progress by removing both the openers in quick succession. Tempers were flaring as the proceedings were getting very heated. Sami and Akthar were gettin their feathers ruffled by the sheer brutality of the hitting they were being faced with. After one play-and-miss by Virender Sehwag in the 8th over, Sami ran up the length of the wicket and cheekily applauded Sehwag's abilities:

Sehwag responded with a six over long off. Sami did get his revenge later...with the first ball of the 10th over, he induced an edge from a cover drive that Sehwag mistimed that went to 1st slip's anxiously waiting hands.

It is obvious to see that Sehwag is livid that he didnt capitlize on his grand start

Next man was Rahul Dravid:

In the next over Shoaib Akthar, bowling around the wicket, produced a peach of a delivery, swinging and seaming inwards which caused Yuvraj Singh to lose the line of the ball and then promptly lose his middle stump.

His start wasnt as great as Sehwags but was still upset in losing his wicket so easily and getting out so soon after Sehwag.

The crowd got to its feet however when the Little Master Sachin Tendulkar strolled in to rescue his country

I like it, you're doing well with the pictures, the more the better, I love the BLIC graphics.

thanks mate! yea i just gotta new laptop so it just looks incredible to be honest. the colors really jump at you with this game. what i like most is the crowds. they did it very well where-in....they sit, if its a slow rolling ball to the fence they wait to get up. if its a 6 or a sure-4 they get up right away as they do during wickets.

BRILLIANT game

Pakistan inflict further damage

Pakistan take a further 2 wickets in the morning session to take a huge advantage. After Shoaib toiled hard Shabbir Ahmed was introduced in the 13th over. Only one word could desribe his bowling: ERRATIC. he gave 3 balls away that went down for 4-byes. took a wicket off a no-ball and bowled a further 3 no-balls and 2 wides. needless to say, he was removed from the attack after just 4 overs of bowling.

The 14th over did prove critical however. Mohammad Sami got Dravid to mistime and edged it back to Moin Khan for a regulation wicketkeeper catch. This was a huge breakthrough for as we all know...the Wall really can hurt a teams chances of victory if he is not picked up early in his innings

He managed only 2 runs in 21 minutes and was very upset with his performance
R. Dravid c Khan b Sami 2(14)

The next man to come in was VVS Laxman.

Adnan Siddiqui also bowled his maiden Test over which was brilliant. He started off his career with a well-read googly that Laxman smothered. He gave up only 4 runs, which was just a GREAT cover drive by Laxman, nothing wrong on Adnans part.

VVS played very well. cutting and driving and flicking the ball to all parts of the ground. He and Sachin put together a useful partnership before Sachin was removed by a Shoaib Akthar ball that pitched in line of leg stump which Sachin tried to flick to fine leg....he did. the shot was so fine that it hit his stumps. Another key wicket, India's two biggest threats back in the pavilion.

Hello, this is Sanjay Manjrekar with Ian Botham. the news from the middle is that the umpires have called for lunch and the players have moved off the field. Pakistan are still in the drivers seat having taken 4 wickets in the first session. However, VVS Laxman and captain Sourav Ganguly have helped India by putting toghether a nice partnership. Lets take a look at the score card and see whats going on with the Indian batsman:

Heres the Pakistani bowling card:

Sourav and VVS helped Indias chances with some fine stroke play. VVS picking up some great drives for fours and a couple of huge 6s.

Sanjay: So Ian who do you count as the man of the session?

Ian:well i think it has to be mohammad sami. Hes taken wickets, kept the scores down and is just bowling beautifully. But credit does go to how the indians are playing at the moment. the captain is doing his job and playing defensively which allows laxman to free his arms and play his shots, as we know he can do.

S: WHat do you think about the new boy, leggie Adnan Siddiqui?

I: I wasnt impressed to be honest, hes got a nice run up and action. hes not too tall so doesnt get the natural height bowlers like Danish get. He started off well but lost the plot towards the end of his spell and gave away some huge runs. i wouldnt be surprised if he doesnt bowl too much in this innings.

Sanjay: Well there you have it folks, weve just heard the players are about to go back out there and start the afternoon session. lets hope India can build this solid partnership and wrestle the advantage back from the visitors. Pakistan will be looking for more wickets for cheap runs. fantastic stuff out there!

Match State:
India
124/4 30.0 overs
VVS Laxman 34(61)
S Ganguly 6(24)

Bowlers
S. Akthar 10-2-41-2
M. Sami 8-3-21-2

India in real trouble. Comon Laxman, think you are playing against Australia and not Pakistan.
