Follow me and watch the Adelaide Crows through the 2008 AFL Season. It looks to be a good season for the Crows, as they have blooded alot of new players.
Brad Symes (Port Adelaide) and Brad Moran (Kangaroos) come to the Crows to give the extra pace and height. Symes is a backmen/midfielder who played in the Port Adelaide Grand Final loss last season, and Moran is a 201cm Ruckmen/Forward who will be important for the Crows after loosing Ben Hudson to the Bulldogs.

The Crows have picked up a lot of good talent through the National Draft.
Tony Armstrong, Myke Cook, Patrick Dangerfield, Jarrhan Jacky, Aaron Kite, Andy Otten and Taylor Walker have all been picked up from the Crows to add to their List. With loosing, Perrie (Retired), Bode (Delisted) , Torney (Retired), Hudson (Bulldogs), S. Welsh (Bulldogs), Meesen (Meloburne) and Martin Mattner (Sydney), it left a huge hole in the Crows list, so it will be interesting to see what kind of year the Crows have in 2008.

Round One: Adelaide vs Sydney @ Aami Stadium

Sydney have come home, against the Adelaide Crows at Aami Stadium in the Round One Clash. The Swans led by rookie, P. Veszpremi who kicked 3 goals on Debut, and Tadgh Kennelly who also kicked 3 goals from on the wing.

The first quarter was a blitz for the Swans. A massive quarter time advantage, saw the Swans lead by 36 points at Quarter Time. The Swans banged on 9 goals in the first term, to the Crows who booted 3. It was a tense, and a high scoring affair in the 1st term, but it was all Sydney.
Nick Davis was instrumental in the 1st term, having 8 possesions and kicking a goal, but it was the whole Sydnye outfit that played well.

The Crows came back in the game, kicking 8 goals in the last quarter, but the Swans also booted 4 goals in the last term to come away with the win in the end. With the early dominance from the Swans, it was good pressure and persitance from the Crows with only lost the match by 19 points.

First gamer, Kurt Tippett, was awsome on debut kicking 5 goals for the home team, he was great in the air, the 201cm ruckmen, played up forward all game, and a little stint in the ruck, due to Jonathan Griffen playing most of the match in the ruck. So Tippett had a better run up forward and made the most of it. Tippett had 13 possesions and took 8 marks, and was one of the best men on the ground.
The other new players for the Crows, Jarrhan Jacky, played a good game, had 15 possesions and took 8 marks, for a small player, thats a good result. Brad Moran didn't have much game time, only played 25 minutes, and was restricted, only had 3 possesions.
Brad Symes was reasonably good, 14 possesions, played all game time, but his opponent, Tadgh Kennelly, did kick 3 goals for the Swans, so he would be dissapointed in that.

Some bad news for the Crows though, one of their favourite sons, Ken McGregor has broken his foot, in a horror tackle from Swans big man, Peter Everitt, McGregor came off the ground limping, but scans has shown that Kenny has broken his foot, and will miss the next 4-5 matches for the Crows, definetly not a start that Kenny nor the Crows wanted.

KEY MATCHUPS

Aaron Davey vs Andrew McLeod:

This will be a important matchup throughout the whole day. McLeod was good last week having 21 possesions off the half back flank, but his speed and agility, won't be as easy to come by this week. Aaron Davey urguably the quickest player in the AFL, and is known for his forward pressure, will be right on McLeod's tail all day.

Robert Shirley vs Cameron Bruce:

Shirley has been given the tagging job on Cameron Bruce this week, Bruce is an important player in the Demon structure, and if Bruce can get away from Shirley, Melbourne will come close to winning this game. But Bruce has to be weary of Shirley coming the other way, as Shirley is smart around goals.

Taylor Walker will make his Debut for the Crows in Round 2 against Melbourne, Adelaide have high hopes for this kid.

Sydney won! They should look to beat Melbourne this week.
