Shoaib Akhtar has apologised to Nasim Ashraf, the PCB chairman, during the second meeting of an appellate tribunal at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore. The three-man tribunal, headed by Justice (retd) Aftab Farrukh, is reviewing Shoaib's appeal against a five-year ban imposed by the Pakistan board on disciplinary grounds.

Great news! He going to be back soon:D

Typical PCB, they don't care about players taking drugs, or hitting each other with a cricket bat, they will back their players to the end of the Earth when accused of cheating, but if someone criticises the board they're gone for 5 years. Then if they apologise, they're back in.

Shoaib Cleared To Play IPL

Shoaib Akhtar's appeal against a five-ban imposed on him by the Pakistan board has been rejected by a three-man appellate tribunal, which upheld his punishment while arriving at its verdict in Lahore.

While the PCB clarified that Shoaib is free to play in the Indian Premier League, an IPL spokesperson told Cricinfo that their position of not allowing him to take part in the tournament remains the same in "the interests of international discipline"

A Kolkata Knight Riders spokesperson said they will abide by the IPL stand. Shoaib was purchased by Kolkata during the players' auction on February 20 for US$425,000.

Don't know about Pakistan Cricket team but Kolkatta going to enjoy that for now.:)

Did anyone else read the same article that I did? Because I'm pretty sure that it said he can't play in the IPL because the league banned him.

Basically Shoaib cant play for Pakistan ever again which is sad news he had so much potential to become a world class bowler! IPL have also said no to him and the ICL have refused to take him...

IMHO shoaib bought this on himself he knew that something major would happen if he continued the way he did...

such a sad loss for the pakistani cricket team

Shoib Akhtar will now be Shoaib Actor.

Akthar loses Pakistan ban appeal

ICL haven't refused him. They just said that they aren't in talks with him.

Totally a cheap plan by PCB and BCCI combine .First PCB thought they will make Shoaib appologise and then BCCI will also not allow him to play in IPL. How disgusting
