An umpiring cricket game

Could you explain in what way it would be confusing and limited?

Yes, I can understand it getting repetitive. But so is Cricket in general. You play ball-by-ball over 90 overs a day or 50 overs a side in a ODI game.

You could describe the sport of Cricket like that but an umpiring game doesn't seem on the cards for any kind of developer who would even think of making it. Target market? Cricket but then the problem goes into, who would want an umpiring game?

Surely a better idea would be to learn to be an umpire for real ;)

I don't see any appeal in an umpiring game especially one with a career path. 5min flash games are about the limit for this kind of game. In fact I didnt even complete 1 game on each of the games I posted.

Last time I checked, hit outside the line of off-stump while playing a shot is not out. Stupid thing. Still got 23/26 decisions correct at an average of 0.3 secs.

Anyway, agree with Kev that it doesn't really have an appeal. Perhaps it could be an option with one of the regular cricket games, but not as a game by itself.

What would you feel about an umpiring game where the full rules are implemented and we are not just going to give LBW decisions all the time but judge wides, no-balls, snicks, bat-pads and so on?

Even with everything implemented I still think it has a very limited appeal unless you want to learn to become an umpire, in which case you could probably get your club to send you on an umpiring course.

Prehaps you should implement a way to call teams for ball tampering as well :p

And also, a way for the umpire to move, when the batsman hits the ball very straight.

But even with all this, I think it would make a very good flash game, but nothing more. Just something to entertain you for 20 mins.

those umpiring games are good. I played them for like 20 minutes or so. A shame all the decisions you have to make are LBW. It got repetitive after a while.
